Would you like to take up the challenge of decarbonizing Maersk’s fleet of container ships as Senior Project Engineer at Maersk’s Copenhagen headquarters?
You will be an integral part of A P Moller – Maersk’s decarbonization journey working in Fleet Technology. Fleet Technology is a specialized maritime engineering competence center responsible for ship design, retrofit and expert support to the Maersk fleet of more than 300 container vessels.
Fleet Technology delivers the complete project lifecycle covering new buildings, ship conversions, technical innovation, vessel recycling and a variety of other specialist technical services to the Maersk fleet.

You will be working on projects with a large variation in complexity and size, from quick investigations to large fleet-wide design and implementation projects, directly impacting how our vessels are operated in the future.
As part of an enthusiastic and international team, you will work with a group of industry leading engineers from marine and other engineering backgrounds.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to work in a global, fast paced environment alongside Maersk’s own commercial and strategic colleagues.

Key responsibilities
· Compile technical requirements for new building projects keeping company’s decarbonization goals using latest technology
· Work with yards in specification and design development and negotiations
· Plan approval for drawings from yards and find solution to address business needs.
· Incorporate operational feedback/input and best practice into new building specification.
· Work effectively to drive external suppliers and stakeholders towards our goals
· Facilitate excellent communication and cooperation between teams from Engineering, Site Offices and Shipyards to ensure stake holders are updated on information
· Continuously be open minded to new emerging technologies, bring them into the fold and evaluate their potential for future implementation
· Ensure that the new bud specification
We are looking for
A passionate Mechanical Engineer or marine engineer with experience as a project manager for new building vessels. The candidate must have experience in pre-project and specification negotiations for new buildings. Have extensive experience with plan approval for newbuilding’s in marine or offshore vessels.
Furthermore, you have developed a strong technical profile with a goal orientated mind set through at least 7-10 years professional experience.
Prior experience with new building projects in Chinese/Korean Shipyards is will be added advantage.
You have strong interpersonal and team working skills with a “self-starter” attitude. You are a confident and effective communicator, with the ability to discuss technical topics at various levels of a global organization as well as communicating technical topics effectively with non-technical colleagues and partners.
It will be considered a significant benefit if you can document prior experience in working on marine and offshore projects with a mechanical focus but is not essential.
And finally, you display excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
