Background
The Autorola Group is currently expanding and is looking to add a head of INDICATA Data Analytics. INDICATA is part of the Autorola Group, which operates in 22 countries globally with 3 key business divisions.
Indicata collects data on 11 million vehicles advertised in the European used car market every day. Our vehicle identification and valuation algorithms process data to provide precise retail and trade valuations for any vehicle in Europe. We disseminate this information to our customers through various channels, including specific vehicle valuations, pricing decisions, advisory systems, and high-level vehicle sales and price trend reports. Customers include major car manufacturers, leasing companies, rental companies, and large automotive retail groups.
Role responsibilities
The role reports to the Business Unit Director, Indicata. This role will sit at the heart of all data and valuation activity in the business. The core objectives of the role are:

To excel in the role, we imagine that you possess the following qualifications:
Experience in a data-rich industry vertical is important, along with the ability to understand the commercial nature of data. This understanding can help in developing advanced data science and analytical tools based on the data from that vertical.
Experience in a range of big data, data science and AI techniques e.g.
Highly data literate with advanced analytical skills with a variety of tools e.g.
Highly articulate and able to present complex data concepts to clients and (non-Data literate) colleagues in understandable terms.

Role responsibilities
The role reports to the Business Unit Director, Indicata. This role will sit at the heart of all data and valuation activity in the business. The core objectives of the role are:
- Ensuring INDICATA valuation methodology and techniques are leading edge and fully utilising the mass of historical data to produce the most stable and accurate valuations in the industry.
- Implementation of new products and reporting tools
- Development of the analytical elements of our Residual Value forecasting capability.
Besides the points above, the role responsibilities are:
To lead and develop the analytics team within Indicata and transition it to being a Data Science lead team from being primarily a data analytical team. Specifically, the teams’ responsibilities are:
- To review the current methodologies of valuation within the Indicata Valuations Engine, to identify opportunities for improvement, and implement revised analytical techniques.
- To review, analyse, and utilise the current and historical datasets to identify how Data Science techniques can be used to improve the mechanism of valuation.
- To carry out data analysis and reporting tasks, handling large data sets of stock and sales data utilising a range of tools.
- To design and deliver bespoke reporting suites in Power BI that can be sold to our customers to help them make better data-driven decisions.
- To develop new data analytical and visualisation tools related to vehicle pricing.
- To support and coach country-based analysis in the development of bespoke reporting needs and, from this, develop standardised analytical products that can satisfy the business in all markets.
- To validate and ensure the quality of Indicata data through the implementation of quality measures and then identify improvements to the process of creating Indicata datasets.
- In conjunction with the Head of Forecasting, take a key role in the development and enhancement of RV forecasting tools, specifically:
Key Skills
To excel in the role, we imagine that you possess the following qualifications:
Experience in a data-rich industry vertical is important, along with the ability to understand the commercial nature of data. This understanding can help in developing advanced data science and analytical tools based on the data from that vertical.
- While automotive industry knowledge would be helpful, it is not essential.
Experience in a range of big data, data science and AI techniques e.g.
- Data Mining
- Predictive modelling (Correlation / Segmentation)
- Supervised and unsupervised models
- Regression analysis and classification / Clustering
- Random Forest, Decision Trees, and other machine learning techniques.
- Advanced data visualisation
Highly data literate with advanced analytical skills with a variety of tools e.g.
- R and Python
- Use of data and data science libraries and tools e.g. PANDAS / Scipy / Numpy
- SQL and/or data retrieval from relational databases
- Tableau / Power BI (or similar tools)
- Advanced Excel.

Highly articulate and able to present complex data concepts to clients and (non-Data literate) colleagues in understandable terms.
- Experience in working on, planning, or managing team-based data and data science projects.
- High professional proficiency in English, professional proficiency in Danish, or other European languages are desirable but not essential.
- The ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities.
- Besides this, it is desirable, but not essential, if you have:
- Experience in Price Indexing techniques, both bilateral and multilateral.
- Management of a Data analytical team.
