IT Supporter

We are located in Nordhavn, Copenhagen, and Svitzer is a leading Global Towage Operator. We have 430 tugboats and 4,400 colleagues worldwide to deliver sustainable marine solutions, making ports and terminals safer, more efficient and climate-friendly. The latter is a high strategic priority. More about the role

Based in Copenhagen, you will be part of a Global IT Support team counting approx. 20 people on the IT run/support side who are spread out geographically, taking care of 2nd and 3rd line support to colleagues onshore and onboard our tugboats. Our 1st line support is outsourced to the ServiceDesk provider NewSignature.

This IT Supporter role is part of the headquarters and the European region. Thus, you will primarily support colleagues in Denmark and Sweden on-site and remotely. In addition, you will collaborate closely with 5 colleagues from the UK, Dubai and Denmark. You must expect to travel 25-50% of the time, mainly to Gothenburg, including visits to tugboats. When visiting tugboats, this may sometimes be for some hours.

When in Denmark, we would like to see you in the office. However, there needs to be a balance with travel activities, and we value that there is a life outside of work. Therefore, there is flexibility as and when needed to work from home, as long as stakeholders are still taken care of, informed and communicated clearly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • IT Support for colleagues in the relevant offices, incl. ensuring that IT hardware and system setup is ready for new joiners, and when people leave us, IT is handled accordingly.
  • Manage IT equipment and supplies and monitor IT systems incl., including maintaining asset management registers and repairs, upgrading IT hardware and updating support documentation for IT processes.
  • Install and configure hardware and software for relevant office locations and onboard part of the fleet.
  • Assist in supporting and maintaining systems supported by Regional IT, e.g. IT on tugboats, office connectivity, mobile phones, printers, software streams, etc.
  • Assist service desk in hardware and software problem resolution.
  • Identify problems which require additional expertise and take appropriate action, incl. referring to problems requiring high-level support, in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Participate in IT projects and keep up to date with IT trends.

We are looking for

We are looking for a service-minded, proactive, and experienced IT Supporter who is good at prioritizing tasks, with a primary focus on supporting people first, i.e. servicing users on shore and at sea.

Apart from the above, we are looking for the following:

  • You must hold a valid visa and work permit for Denmark.
  • You must hold a driving license as the job will require, e.g. driving to ports/tugboats.
  • You must be fluent in oral and written English, as this is our corporate language.
  • IT qualification or equivalent, either completed or currently undertaken, is an advantage.
  • Experience with 2nd line e support is preferred.
  • Experience with Windows 10, Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Intune, and exposure to Cisco Meraki.
  • Experience installing wireless equipment (Cisco), Wi-Fi and 4G/5G equipment, fibre connectivity, etc.
  • You can operate various standard office equipment, including computers, MFDs, phones, etc.
  • You understand various personal computing equipment, networks, and software.
  • You thrive with working in a small team, being involved with multiple simultaneous tasks and projects.
  • You are self-driven and good at managing your time and priorities and will keep your manager posted as and when needed. Especially in case you need help.
  • You have a structured approach to your tasks and enjoy finding the best solutions for your colleagues.
