We are looking for another skillful academic with a background in the natural sciences to support and optimize our purification processes. For a candidate, who also understands equipment involved in purification processes and experience with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), we can offer an exciting and challenging job in the part of Novo Nordisk called Purification Plant II (PPII). About the department

In Novo Nordisk, your development is our common task. Through training and systemised learning, you will be educated to be successful in the process supporter position in our purification facility. PP is part of the Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (DAPI) area, and is located at our site in Kalundborg, where more than half of the entire global insulin supply is manufactured. In PP, we purify insulin and GLP-1, in 4 connected facilities. Besides this, we have our own laboratory, a maintenance and a business support department. All in all, we are more than 500 colleagues.

You will be part of the family in the purification plant PPII. Here, you will enjoy the company of about 80 competent and dedicated colleagues, working with the active ingredient in insulin Detemir, marketed under the name of Levemir®.

The vacant position is in our Process Support team and is limited to a period of 24 months, with possibility of extension. In the support team, you will have about 11 colleagues, and our primary purification steps is HPLC columns, centrifugation, precipitation and drying processes.

The position
Your primary responsibility will be to support the daily operation of our crystallization and drying processes, located in controlled areas – class D and C. The process operators will be your closest stakeholders, and you will be using much of your time creating a understanding of how mechanical equipment can impact our chemical processes.

When challenges occur in our production, you will be in charge to ensures the systematic, efficient and timely solution of the issues. You and the rest of the team is responsible to maintain a stable process and secure continuous optimization of the operational procedures. You also have a task in securing compliance with regulatory requirements in your area. The department is in the middle of an exciting transformation journey with several optimization projects – technical as well as process related – so the participation in optimization- and standardization projects will be an integral part of your work week.

Qualifications

You hold a relevant academic degree, e.g. MSc. within chemistry, engineering or pharmacy, but not limited to those. If you already have a few years of experience from a regulated production environment, you will succeed more quickly in your new role. You have a basic understanding of GMP and LEAN.

You have a positive approach to your tasks, seeing opportunities before the limitations, and you find motivation in finishing your tasks effectively. To succeed in this role, it is important to be able to quickly adjust to new priorities and what you can initiate and drive tasks independently. Not least, you are outgoing and good at creating trustful relations, with a talent for communication in a way that bridges professional and cultural distances – in Danish and English alike.
