Compliance Officer – Europcar Denmark Job Description
As a part of Europcar Mobility Group, Europcar Denmark are committed to ensure that all our customers' data is protected, and that our work complies with data protection legislation. We’re seeking a local Compliance Officer (GDPR Champ) to help us improve our management of potentially sensitive information, carry out regular internal security audits, and act as the main point of contact within the organization and our owners, Europcar Mobility Group in France. Our ideal team member will have the legal knowledge, excellent organizational and communication, and also the capability to lead processes and projects with referring to GDPR, Compliance and etc. You’ll often be asked to work independently in this role, but also to communicate with all relevant employees as you promote a culture of data protection compliance within the organization. A part of the job could potentially involve responsibility for tasks in our Nordic Cluster, which include Norway and Finland besides Denmark. Other legal competencies to support other fields in our organization, like internal compliance campaigns, tort law, laws of reckless driving, could also be a part of your new role at Europcar Denmark.

Objectives of this Role
- Act as the primary point of contact within the organization and at Group level, with reference to our local DPO (Data Protection Officer) in France.
- Ensure the company’s policy is in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and codes of practice
- Evaluate the existing data protection framework and identify areas of non or partial compliance and rectify any issues
- Participate in monthly online call with our DPO Network at group level
- Promote a culture of data protection compliance across all units of the organization
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and educate employees on important data compliance requirements
- Handle and secure that new and existing internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures are correctly implemented (DPO at group level provide us with all relevant materials).
- Proactively conduct audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues
- Maintain records of all data processing activities carried out by the company
Skills and Qualifications
- Preferred experience working with data protection, compliance or a related field
- Expertise in European data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR
- Experience within a legal, audit and/or risk function department
- Project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- A relevant professional background or at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 or related writing and presentation software
- Knowledge of using Google-drive is preferred
