International Corporate Counsel for commercial contracts, dispute resolution and IP
We are offering an opportunity to become our new colleague to join Group Legal team at our corporate headquarters in Brøndby, Denmark.
Group Legal is a team of 7 people and is part of Nilfisk’s global Corporate Affairs department. Corporate Affairs is composed of Group Legal, M&A and Partnerships, Intellectual Property, Corporate Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs teams and consists of 20 employees based in Denmark, the United States, Mexico, and China. The department is anchored with the Nilfisk Executive Leadership Team.
At the department’s core, we believe in growth and in creating strong relationships throughout the organization and externally to make things happen and support moving Nilfisk forward.
The job
As our Corporate Counsel, your focus will be on general commercial contracts, disputes & litigations and for the right candidate also legal IP. As a key team member, you will be supporting international projects by de-risking contracts and by providing business oriented legal solutions to the commercial teams.
More specifically your key role will be:

The position is a global role with opportunity to travel and work with colleagues and partners across geographies. Expected travel 10-20 days/year. As Corporate Counsel you will report to Associate General Counsel, Kenneth Fischer-Damgaard.
The ideal candidate
Your educational background is a Cand.jur. or Cand.merc.(jur.). You have around 3-5 years relevant experience post-graduation from a law firm or an in-house legal department in a larger company. As our corporate language is English you have profound English speaking- and writing skills. Furthermore, to succeed in the position, you are commercially minded and solution-focused with a can-do attitude.
You thrive in multitasking all types of matters, and you have a professional approach to delivering high quality work and meeting deadlines. You are the type of person who can take ownership of tasks and see things through at own initiative. But most of all, you are a great person who is enthusiastic around building relationships with other people.

The job
As our Corporate Counsel, your focus will be on general commercial contracts, disputes & litigations and for the right candidate also legal IP. As a key team member, you will be supporting international projects by de-risking contracts and by providing business oriented legal solutions to the commercial teams.
More specifically your key role will be:
- Preparation, drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts related to sales, service, supply chain, procurement, and other key projects
- Legal template development
- Training of colleagues from other departments in commercial contracts
- Manage disputes and litigations globally together with relevant external legal counsel
- Risk assessment together with our global finance department in respect of material claims
For the right candidate with an IP profile, the job could be expanded to include a collaboration with our Head of IP to:
- Manage our trademarks
- Manage patent violations
- Draft and negotiate development agreements or other IP agreements
