Do you want to be part of shaping ALK's future by protecting ALK innovations within allergy, asthma and immunology? Do you see yourself mapping the opportunities for making business-relevant patents?
You will be part of the Corporate Intellectual Property department located in Hørsholm (Denmark), which has the global responsibility of handling all IPR related activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams and external patent law firms.
You will have the possibility of making a significant impact on the IP tasks and services that the department is undertaking.
You will play a key role in providing IP landscape analyses with the goal of driving the future IP generation and pipeline opportunities for ALK, while you will also be involved in all kinds of IP tasks ranging from devising patenting and FTO strategies, patent drafting, patent prosecuting & enforcement, third-party patent invalidation, competitor monitoring and IP risk mitigation.
You will be working closely with R&D scientists, business development, external consultants and IP law firms in order to make the optimal choices and to maximise the value of our efforts.
The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a strong strategic and commercial mindset, who is experienced and driven by spotting inventions in close dialogue with R&D stakeholders.

Who you are
- You have a university degree at minimum MSc level which has given you a solid knowledge within immunology, biochemistry and biologically active molecules.
- You have worked as a patent attorney for at least 2-4 years in a patent law firm or in the industry to give you the solid experience within patenting of immunological inventions and biological active molecules with proteinic structures and, preferably, you are a qualified European Patent Attorney or on the way to be qualified.
- You have a strong analytical mindset and experience with using IP landscaping search tools, enabling you to make IP landscape analyses and clearly communicate the results to various stakeholders.
- You enjoy working on IP tasks requiring deep insight in immunology combined with your patent skills and your business-oriented mindset.
- You are an excellent presenter and communicate fluently in English. It will be an advantage if you are also able to speak and write in Chinese.
