We are looking for a strong leader, with an analytical mindset and strong M&A experience to guide and drive strategy development and present business development opportunities that drive growth.
The position
Reporting directly to CEO Kristian Villumsen, the position is a key element in the future strategic direction of Coloplast and the M&A activities that must follow.
Coloplast current strategy is nearing the end, and the shaping of the future strategy will begin shortly. As Coloplast has seen tremendous growth and performance during the past strategy period, and with expectations for the future to be even higher, it is now the perfect time to recruit the new VP Group M&A, Development & Strategy to the Coloplast team.
Responsibilities
As VP Group M&A, Development & Strategy in Coloplast, you are responsible for the corporate strategy process, including the strategy process for the individual business areas as well as key corporate and commercial projects of strategic importance. You are the CEO´s right hand and counsellor, working closely with the Executive Management team and Business Area Management.
Your team is responsible for Corporate Development and strategy but also includes a Commercial Development team leading strategic commercial projects across our Business areas and in key markets.
As the leader of Coloplast’s highly skilled M&A, Development & Strategy team, you are expected to take a forceful role in building M&A as a real capability in the company. Your team will work across business units to understand and evaluate the competitive position considering changing market dynamics and an overall imperative to drive value creation.

Taking over the full responsibility for Corporate M&A, Development & Strategy in a listed Global company like Coloplast requires in-depth professional knowledge and experience within the field of Strategy and M&A but also a well-developed commercial mindset and business acumen.

You have significant deal background and interpersonal skills to excel in a multi-faceted corporation with significant experience leading matrixed deal teams. You have demonstrated success executing all aspects of transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments, joint ventures, and other strategic alliances.

- Guide and drive end-to-end strategy development and make adjustments to existing strategies based upon new learning and changes in the competitive environment
- Identify and drive strategic corporate and commercial projects
- Explore & present business development opportunities and new ideas that drive profitable growth. This includes leading the strategic evaluation of opportunities and facilitating operational due diligence as necessary
- Own, develop, drive and manage the Corporate M&A initiatives and process, and build and own the Coloplast M&A playbook
- Contribute to business growth by identifying and prioritizing potential business opportunities and evaluating potential investments, strategic partnerships, and/or M&A activities

- 10+ years of international Corporate Strategy & development experience, preferably as a mix of management consulting and real time corporate experience
- Considerable international M&A experience, analyzing, executing and implementing
- Strong experience in complex and tough negotiations
- Excellent understanding of financial models, issues and aspects of any given project
- Exceptional presentation, interpersonal and consultative skills to effectively build relationships and interact with all levels across the organization.
- Strategic thinking capability balanced with tactical and implementation/execution skills.
- Must have excellent analytical skills and a logical thought process.
- Specific expertise in developing strategic alternatives with cross functional implications and financial impact
- Ideally you have knowledge of the life sciences industry or companies from a regulated industry
