We are seeking a student currently studying within the topic mechanical engineering.

About the department
In the facility of Insulin Manufacturing 2 (IM2), we produce the active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for many of Novo Nordisk’s diabetes care products at full-scale. Simultaneously, we also work on developing and executing new future manufacturing processes. As part of such an organization, multiple cross-organizational activities occur, for example, projects related to improved energy utilization and energy system optimization. You will be part of IM2 Business Support Organization, where you will join 75 skilled colleagues working and/or leading different cross-functional projects and activities. The team is dynamic and constantly evaluating how to improve IM2 cross-organizationally.

The position

Your role will be to understand, learn and develop competencies within energy stewardship applying process understanding, idea generation, screening and selection. Specifically, you will be exposed to various data systems and understand how industrial data is collected and sorted, you will apply energy systems analyses to understand current energy systems, visualize existing data coupled with recommendations for improvements, you will have the opportunity to share new knowledge and combine both new and existing knowledge for improving the basic understanding of energy systems and finally, you will have the opportunity to recommend new ways of doing things related to measurements etc. and how simulation etc. can be utilized for a systems overview.

This job gives you an opportunity to play a part in shaping the future with respect to energy management across an organization, in close collaboration with other manufacturing environments in Novo Nordisk. From a development perspective it also provides the opportunity to present and disseminate information to both technical and management groups.

Qualifications
The candidate should have the following or developing qualifications:

  • Studying within the field of mechanical engineering with a high interest for energy optimisation
  • Interested in developing programming competencies
  • Interested in developing data-driven decision-making competencies
  • Interested in industry 4.0 analytics
  • Enrolled in an MSc program within a Danish university
