Would you like to play a key part of MAERSK’s exciting journey into the digitalization and CO2 neutralization of the transport and logistics industry and thus into a new competitive landscape, where IP will assist the business strategically?
We are currently strengthening and expanding our Global IP Team located at MAERSK’s HQ in Copenhagen, Denmark, by looking for a Patent Attorney with proven IP experience, technical skills and strong commercial mindset.
The position is anchored in the MAERSK Legal Department, but will have a global scope and reach as the MAERSK groups’ internal IP focal point.
This is a very exciting role focused on bridging IP and business value for MAERSK. In this process you will be responsible for the full range of technical, legal and business advice with respect to our growing patent portfolio.

• Landscaping searches and analysis
• Harvesting of inventions
• Novelty searches and patentability opinions
• Drafting patent applications
• Drafting responses to office actions
• Reviewing drafts and reports from agents
• Instructing agents
• Patent portfolio reviews and management
• Oppositions/Appeals
• Third party product searches
• Claim charting and infringement analysis
• Invalidity searches and analysis
• Risk assessments, FTO searches and analysis
• Internal IP training
As the ideal candidate, you will have a Ph.D. or M.Sc. in any fields of engineering (life science excluded), computer science, or similar, combined with being an EPA (or partially qualified EPA), US Patent Attorney, CN Patent Attorney, or equivalent.
You have at least 4 years of experience as Patent Attorney in-house and/or in IP consultancy firms – ideally a combination of both.
You:
• Think creatively and take initiative
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Possess the ability to work independently and autonomously
• Can cope with varying levels of workload and pressure
• Preferably have intercultural experience
