We are looking for an experienced lawyer with proven legal skills as well as a strong commercial and international mindset for a role as Senior Legal Counsel in one of the world's largest logistics companies.

The Commercial and Procurement Team is a section in Maersk’s Legal Department currently consisting of 2 lawyers providing legal support to the global Maersk organization on a broad range of contractual matters and – occasionally – contractual disputes.
As part of our team, you will work closely with colleagues across the global Maersk organization to shape the Maersk of tomorrow.
The position is anchored in the Legal Department at Maersk's headquarter in Copenhagen with reference to the Head of Commercial and Procurement but the position has an extensive international reach and requires close collaboration with stakeholders in the entire Maersk organisation.
This role is based in Copenhagen and travel activity may occur, potentially on short notice.

The main areas of responsibility are to:
• Assist with contract advice and negotiation of all kind of vendor and vendor related contracts for the organization.
• Ensure that sufficient terms are applied and that a robust contracting process is in place.
• Ability to see through complex documents, identify paint points and must haves and translate them into simple and effective solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders in all functions and at all levels in Maersk to find commercially viable and legally sound solutions that support Maersk's strategy and business goals.
• Draft, comment on and negotiate a variety of contracts documents.
• Manage use of external legal advisors.
The ideal candidate hold a Law Degree and have at least 5 – 6 years’ post-graduate experience from a law firm and/or as in-house legal counsel in an international company.
You have a commercial mindset. Experience from commercial litigation is a plus.
Furthermore you:
• Ideally have knowledge of transport and logistics related contracts.
• Have knowledge of Common Law, at least on a basic level.
• Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate clearly across the global organization.
• Can work independently and stand by your decisions when challenged whilst keeping an open mind.
• Are methodical and thorough and have an ability to keep a clear mind in a busy and dynamic environment.
• Can easily work with different stakeholders across cultures.
• Have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Are a high performer that thrives in a challenging and often unpredictable business environment.
• Have a strategic and not least a commercial mindset and the ability to make difficult decisions bearing the overall interests of Maersk in mind.
• Are able to prioritize tasks and manage several tasks at the same time.
You have an excellent command of written and spoken English. Other language skills are an advantage but not a requirement.
