At Bech-Bruun, we are looking to expand our renewable energy team with an experienced lawyer (holding a law degree or a commercial law degree) with extensive experience in international construction law, preferably in offshore wind construction or other large scale infrastructure projects.
The job
You will join our Renewable Energy practice group. Bech-Bruun's renewable energy team is proud to provide advice to an increasing number of world leading offshore wind developers and suppliers on projects in Europe, the USA and in Asia. You will join a highly international, specialized and industry focused team of lawyers with substantial experience within the offshore wind industry.
We strive to stand out by offering our clients interdisciplinary advice combined with highly specialized expertise and extensive industry insight and deep commercial understanding.
Our exclusive focus on renewable energy projects and transactions allows us to perform efficiently in transactions and deliver innovative and pragmatic solutions when drafting contracts.
Bech-Bruun advises on all aspects of renewable energy projects, including development, financing, M&A, contract drafting and negotiation. The team represents years of experience, warranting an insight that is second to none into fundamental drivers in renewable energy contracts and transactions, including optimization of interfaces between suppliers, split of technical risks and mechanisms for the protection against consequences of new technology.
Your profile
You are an experienced practicing lawyer or in-house lawyer with extensive experience in international construction law, preferably in offshore wind construction supply contracts and/or service agreements, such as turbines, cables, foundations and/or substation contracts. You have good knowledge of FIDIC-based contracts, you are an experienced negotiator, and you have an excellent command of both spoken and written English.
You are a pragmatic person, who is strong enough to fight for a client’s position and smart enough to compromise when a compromise is required. You think like a lawyer and provide detailed and legally correct advice, but you are also a pragmatic person, who understands that all legal advice must relate to the technical and commercial context of a project and be designed to support the client's business.
You thrive on working with legal issues in an efficient manner while creating good results.
You continue to develop your skills and to specialize further in this area. You are a committed colleague with an adaptable and quality-minded approach to work.
You like being where the action is – even when it is moving fast. You enjoy working independently and make sure your projects are completed. You are a thorough person who stays in control whatever the circumstances and, being ambitious and result-oriented, you thrive on having a busy workday.
You have good interpersonal skills and are mentally strong.
Due to our international presence, we encourage candidates who have a non-Danish law degree to apply for this position.
You will be based at our offices in Aarhus or in Copenhagen, but as we are currently involved in projects in Taiwan, Japan and the USA as well as in several European countries and as this is a truly international job, the right candidate may just as well have Taipei, Tokyo or New York as his or her home base.
