Lawyer for Large-Scale Renewable Energy Transactions
Are you specialised in corporate law at the highest level and do you want to be part of one of the fastest moving and fastest changing business areas, namely renewable energy? Do you want to negotiate, advise on and draft contracts in relation to acquisitions, sales processes, partnerships/joint ventures and complex commercial contracts regarding wind and solar projects across the entire world? European Energy covers all phases of wind and photovoltaic (PV) solar projects, from early project development to operation and divestment of the assets. We are 310 employees with 26 different nationalities, and since 2004 we have installed more than 100 renewable projects representing a total value of more than DKK 15 billion. Currently, we have a development pipeline exceeding 20 GW and operate globally with our head quarter located in Copenhagen and offices in Sweden, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Spain and more to come. Our mission is to play a significant role in the global transition to a fossil free society.
The legal department at European Energy consists of 11 lawyers. We are an international team with a solid skillset within corporate law, construction law, real property law, M&A, finance transactions and commercial contracts. We advise the European Energy organization about all legal and contractual aspects in relation to development, acquisition, financing, construction and sales of wind farm- and large-scale solar projects.
We are looking for a business-minded Lawyer who has significant corporate law experience at a high level, and who can handle legal processes, contract negotiations and major transactions. We are inter alia interested in hearing from candidates who have a background within M&A, M&A real estate, construction law, real property law, banking and finance, and commercial contracts.

Your primary areas of responsibility:
- Counseling and drafting of contracts in relation to acquisition and sale of international wind- and solar projects, as well as partnership and joint venture agreements and commercial contracts in relation to our projects and the day-to-day business
- Conduct complex negotiations and handling of legal processes and transactions
- Sparring with colleagues from the legal team and the other departments about specific project related topics, including risk assessment and risk mitigation
- Develop innovative contractual and structural solutions to mitigate risk or solve problems
Your profile:
- The right candidate has significant corporate law experience at high level
- The position has a high element of contract drafting and in turn the right candidate has professional contract drafting skills
- Good English skills
- You are thorough in the execution of your work and even when you are very busy you stay professional and professional
- You work well in teams, and is able to work well together with people from all backgrounds
- You are pragmatic and have a good commercial understanding of when a compromise is an advantage and when to argue for the optimal solution
- You possess solid problem solving and critical thinking skills
- You are motivated by handling complex transactions and legal processes and deliver commercial and valuable advice to the organization
