Trusted advisor across strategies, contracts, negotiations and more
In the Danish TotalEnergies organisation we have two focus areas. One is being the leading oil and gas company in the Danish part of the North Sea. The other is our multi-energy agenda transforming the company to become a major player in the green energy industry of tomorrow where our projects around offshore wind and carbon capture & storage are just two examples of the green transition.
The turning point of your new job is within deals, agreements, partner relations and business partnering. However, as one of our senior legal counsels you will provide advice within all kinds of legal aspects. It can be related to site rental, licenses, partner relations and more. In fact, the better you demonstrate your ability to see legal aspects in a commercial perspective, the more you can expect to be involved in business-critical decisions.
In overview your primary tasks will be to:
10+ years of experience within advisory and contract handling in a commercial setting
As Senior you must be able to apply a commercial perspective to your legal counselling. As such, your general approach is: how can we make this possible and still be on solid legal ground? Additionally, you know how to navigate across professional and cultural borders in an international organization. Related to this, you can communicate in a way that makes sense to colleagues. Our company language is English, which we expect you to master both in speech and writing. Also command of the Danish language is a prerequisite to be able to handle the Danish contractual framework and stakeholders.
Your new team
Your new workplace is our Esbjerg office at the harbour waterfront. Here you will join our General Counsel and be close to many of the managers that you collaborate with. In general our 10-person legal team is based both in Esbjerg and in our Copenhagen Office. However, the distance does not prevent us from being a team where you can get the help and sparring you need and when you need it.

- Take the role as business partner / trusted advisor to management and managers across the organization
- Deliver legal memorandums and papers to support business interests both within the company and external relations
- Handle highly complex legal projects and cases
- Prepare legal opinions
- Provide advice regarding strategy, risks, and opportunities
- Give legal support on business ventures within our multi-energy portfolio
- Manage contract and business strategies
- Draw up contracts and participate in negotiations
