Trusted advisor to the business and contract portfolio administrator
In the Danish TotalEnergies organisation we have two focus areas. One is centred on being the leading oil and gas company in the Danish part of the North Sea. It is a complex technological setup that involves multiple sub suppliers. The other is our multi-energy agenda, transforming the company to become a major player in the green energy industry of tomorrow, where our projects around offshore wind and carbon capture & storage are just two examples of the green transition. These new project areas further underline the importance of strong and dedicated management of contracts.
As Legal Counsel your focus will be to legally direct our portfolio of supplier terms and conditions that spans from rather simple two pages to 100 pages long complex contracts of e.g. equipment to the Norths Sea operation. You will provide advice to Managers at all levels and contribute to the strategy as well as the content. You will support drawing up new contracts and be included in the various aspects of the contracts’ lifetime all the way from drafting to tender, to signature, commencement and termination. You will also adapt templates from HQ to match Danish requirements and keep hold of the template portfolio.

You will have an especially close collaboration with your colleagues in Contracting & Procurement. They have the commercial responsibility, and you are the one to ensure that we are on legal safe ground.
Master’s degree in Danish law and 5+ years of experience from a job with contract focus
As business partner you must apply a proactive approach and not be afraid to engage with the business when you e.g. can see an opportunity to simplify a contract and/or optimizing terms. You should strive to optimise the business in a manner that also fits operational needs, so dialogue and cooperations are fundamental traits. You must thrive in a role with multiple contacts and be able to communicate in a straight-forward way to colleagues. As part of this, you bring in a positive and solution-oriented approach and ensure a solid hold of the important details. Our company language is English, which we expect you to master both in speech and writing. Also command of the Danish language is a prerequisite to be able to handle the Danish contractual framework and stakeholders.
Your new team
Your new workplace is our Esbjerg office at the waterfront at the harbour. Here you will join our General Counsel and be close to many of the managers that you collaborate with. In general, our 10-person legal team is based both in Esbjerg and in our Copenhagen Office. However, the distance does not prevent us from being a team where you can get the help and sparring you need and when you need it.

- Ensure your understanding of specific needs in specific contracts
- Provide solution-oriented advice regarding strategy, risks, and opportunities
- Draw up contracts and participate in negotiations
- Adapt contract templates from HQ to match Danish legislation and requirements
- Administrate the contract portfolio
