Product Development Scientist

The market for probiotic dietary supplements is growing and we seek an experienced Development Scientist to help further develop our position in the market.

Bifodan is a small company, and the position will provide you with a unique opportunity to obtain insight into many business processes in a GMP certified company.
Product Development is a key function in Bifodan. The development team is responsible for development of new products and for continuous optimization of our existing product portfolios. We interact daily with many different functions in the company, including production, quality and marketing as well as with customers. We strive at being innovative in our approach to both products and processes.
We are recruiting a dedicated and organized Development Scientist with strong expertise in formulations and development of solid dosage forms (tablets, capsules and granulates).

We are recruiting a dedicated and organized Development Scientist with strong expertise in formulations and development of solid dosage forms (tablets, capsules and granulates).
Responsibilities
- Define new product designs and performance objectives in collaboration with other functions, including Product Management and Marketing
- Develop new finished formats; probiotics tablets, capsules, and granulates
- Perform pilot productions in collaboration with Production and Support Production in process optimizations
- Liaise with raw material suppliers in screening for and implementation of new or improved raw materials
- Establish and manage protocols for evaluation of product performance, including stability studies
- Communicate project status to management and other stakeholders
- Represent Product Development in cross organizational projects and innovation fora
- Ensure that Product Development delivers technical documentation of high quality for both internal and external use
Qualifications and competencies
- Master or PhD in pharmacy, chemistry or other relevant scientific field
- Experience in development of solid dosage forms (capsules, tablets, and granulates) and associated technologies such as coating
- Scientific approach to data analysis and interpretation. Ability to communicate results effectively to different audiences and help drive development and management of products
- Strong problem solver
- Quality-oriented
- GMP knowledge
- Experience with probiotics and dietary supplements is a plus
