The global Vertical lead is responsible for creating and deploying a vertical strategy for driving growth.

As the vertical lead you will be responsible for supporting and creating value propositions to deliver the vertical strategy. This will mean driving alignment through the organisation for resources to deliver these value propositions which amongst others include; products, sales, operations, customer service.

Furthermore this role will also be accountable and responsible to spread industry know how and knowledge within the wider group and act as the go to person for vertical specific know how.

This role can be based in Copenhagen - or for the right candidate other locations in Europe and some travel must be expected.

The areas of responsibilities are divided into 3 main areas:

Strategy

• Detailed understanding of the Pharma and Healthcare Industry and customers’ supply chain strategies and needs
• Understanding of Maersk position vs. Competitor’s landscape
• Develop appropriate value propositions along with industry expertise and customer base
• Seek input from global account teams and area vertical leads on value propositions
• Develop unique selling proposition and differentiation against competition

Selling

• Coordinate marketing and sales activities along development for the Pharma and Healthcare vertical
• Drive sales pursuit plans linked to vertical value propositions with leading areas and target accounts
• Ensure vertical value propositions are fit for purpose with customer needs and requirements

Delivering

• Align and coordinate value proposition development with internal stakeholders
• Align and coordinate value propostion, product catalogue and required product or platform developments with product and platform teams
• Monitor and support business development initiatives to ensure sub-vertical growth targets are met

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen with the ability to understand customers’ financial landscape, benefits delivered as well as internal investment proposal for value proposition development

You have specialized knowledge of the Pharma and Healthcare industry.

Furthermore you have:

• The ability to evaluate Pharma specific trends and impact on customer’s supply chain and develop solutions to improve customer outcomes
• Excellent networking and communication skills to communicate at all levels incl. executive and senior management level at customer side and internally
• The ability to work efficiently in a matrix organization and in cross-functional teams
• Highly developed value selling or consultative selling approach
• The ability to develop Pharma and Healthcare strategy for short, medium and long term objectives.
