What we think you should have

Technical expertise: Candidates should have a technical background in chemistry, materials science, or a related field, with experience working with advanced materials. A deep understanding of graphene materials and their applications is an advantage.

Customer focus: Candidates should have a customer-centric mindset and be able to identify and anticipate customer needs.

Business acumen: Application Scientist should have a strong business acumen, with the ability to understand market trends and identify new opportunities.

Strong communication skills: You must be able to communicate complex technical information to a range of audiences, from customers to internal stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Strategic thinking: You should have a strategic mindset, with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.

Teamwork: Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including marketing and communications is essential. Candidates should have strong teamwork skills and be able to work effectively in a matrix organization.

Commitment to net-zero: Eager to apply graphene material to support the transition to the net-zero economy.

Ideal candidate skills and experience

  • Technical background with knowledge of nanomaterials preferably graphene
  • Proven-track record of technical project success
  • 2-3 years experience in a similar position with international exposure
  • Minimum master's degree from a top-tier university in Chemistry, Material Sciences, Polymer Science/Engineering, or related field.
  • PhD is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English.
  • The candidate has to qualify for a working permit in Norway.
  • Area of responsibility
  • Lead and execute technical projects to develop and commercialize graphene based products and technologies

General tasks

  • Lead and execute technical projects with customers and development partners.
  • Understand the technical needs of the customer, suggest, and implement technical solutions.
  • Design, set up and operate bench experiments and synthesis of graphene oxide and its derivatives.
  • Collect and analyze product data, interpret results, and contribute to keep up to date TDS and MSDS documents.
  • Explain complex technical information in a way that is easily understandable.
  • Compile proposals and reports related to technical products.
  • Develop product application knowledge to establish key relationships of graphene-based materials properties, product design, and product performance.
  • Ensure understanding and adherence to EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Expected travel time approximately 10%.
  • Other tasks according to the company's needs.
