The job


The Demi Chef reports to the Chef De Partie

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.

• Support the Chef de Partie in managing the daily operations of the kitchen, including maintaining cleanliness and organization.

• Learn and adhere to kitchen procedures, including food safety and hygiene practices.

• Prepare ingredients for dishes, including washing, chopping, and measuring, as directed by senior kitchen staff.

• Assist in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations.

• Monitor and manage stock levels, including reporting any shortages or issues to senior staff.

• Strict adherence to the Food Hygiene standards laid out in training.

• Commit the utmost attention and importance to the Site Allergen Procedure.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly sanitized and stored.

• Participate in training sessions to develop culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.

• Follow instructions and work efficiently during service periods to ensure timely and accurate food preparation.

• Assist with the execution of daily specials and menu items, including preparing and plating dishes.

• Support the team in any other tasks required to ensure smooth kitchen operations and high standards of food quality.

• Commit to completion of Online training within 2 weeks of start date. • Occasionally, you will be asked to assist the team with tasks outside your regular duties to support overall operations.

Expectations

• A good understanding of how the role contributes to the success of the restaurant

• Willingness to work on a shift basis, with flexibility to work on weekends and public holidays

• Adherence to grooming standards

• Good time management skills

• Verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of any other European language is an asset
