The position
You will as Communication Director and head of our media relations report to the VP of Corporate Communications & Investor Relations who reports directly to the Group CFO, and you will be working for increasing the awareness and profile of ALK among our target audiences, particularly among the Danish media.
Corporate Communications & Investor Relations is a small, efficient team that is responsible for ALK’s external communication, including media relations, financial reports, company announcements, press releases and presentations, corporate websites and SoMe channels, as well as our corporate branding toolbox.
You will be working very closely with the Board of Management as well as ALK’s various functions and business units and support our international subsidiaries. We plan to add a dedicated resources within digital communication to this unit. In addition, we rely on a network of external consultants.

Your areas of responsibility
- Develop and execute a broad variety of strategies to deliver ALK’s communication goals, including our global media strategy
- Develop news stories, press releases, reports, presentations, campaigns and communication plans, and adapt them for use in multiple channels
- Craft our narrative on complex issues, shaping our responses to corporate issues, emerging trends, and industry events
- Engage proactively with the external media, particularly in Denmark, to increase awareness of ALK and to ensure accurate coverage
- Further develop our channels strategy to optimise the mix of traditional and digital media, including websites, SoMe channels, video content, etc.
- Maintain and develop ALK’s corporate branding toolbox (presentations, written material, videos, SoMe, etc.)
- Provide strategic input and support to executives and other parts of the organisation on a range of communication topics
- Coordinate communication activities with the rest of the organisation to ensure consistency and cohesion
Your background
You are an exceptionally strong communicator that possess a sharp business acumen. You have a natural authority and tenacity, coupled by an ability to explain complicated matters clearly and simply. Furthermore, you are a relentless networker and can forge links throughout the company in order to both spread your influence, as well as source great stories and elicit expert input.
In addition, we expect you to bring
- A relevant master's degree (e.g., journalism, life sciences or similar)
- 10+ years’ experience in communication, preferably at corporate level with an international organisation
- Pharmaceutical industry knowledge and/or experience from a listed company will be an advantage
- Solid understanding of strategic communication, communication disciplines and cross-functional project management
- Strong understanding of digital communication and the mix of earned, owned and paid media is a must
- Fluency in English is a prerequisite (written and spoken). Danish is an advantage
- Strong interpersonal skills, high drive and energy, can-do attitude, proactive, structured and with good data analysis skills
- Proven track record of excellent stakeholder management competencies with the skills and conviction to set and drive communication agendas across the group
