About ICARS
The International Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Solutions (ICARS) is a new organisation with a mission to develop evidence-based solutions to mitigate antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). In partnership with LMIC ministries, research institutions and local stakeholders we co-develop and implement research projects that tackle specific AMR challenges across the One Health spectrum. We currently have more than 30 projects across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America, these projects contribute to countries’ National Action Plans to reduce AMR and are intended for future scale-up.

About the position
ICARS is looking for a student assistant to support the Communications Officer with:
The student assistant will work directly with the ICARS Communications Officer on tasks spanning both the Science and Operations teams.
Your background and experience
In order to become a student assistant you must be enrolled at a university as an active student within a subject like Communications or similar. We will consider it an advantage if you have experience working in research communications, have an interest in global health, and are interested in working for an international organisation with a focus on Low- and Middle-Income Countries.
Desirable skills and experience
To succeed in this position, you must have strong IT skills, be self-motivated, solutions-focused, and good at cooperating with a diverse team from different disciplines.
Since English is our working language, it is important that you have proficiency in English both verbally and in writing.
Working at ICARS
We offer an exciting opportunity to join a new international organization. As our Student Assistant, you will gain a unique insight into how an international organisation works with communication and advocacy to reach out to global partners.
You will be part of a small but growing team that is developing the scientific and organisational foundation of ICARS. Our team is composed of 27 enthusiastic individuals that believe in ICARS’ mission and are highly motivated to ensure its success.
The student assistant will be required to work 15 hours a week from the ICARS office based at Statens Serum Institut in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Terms of employment
The start date is anticipated to be in early April.
The position as student assistant will be covered by the terms of the collective agreement between The Danish Finance Ministry and the Organisation of Public Employees (OAO-S-Fællesoverenskomsten) and the organizational agreement between The Danish Finance Ministry and the Organisation for Salaried Employees HK/Stat (Organisationsaftale for kontorfunktionærer, laboranter og it-medarbejdere (HK)), according to chapter 6 in the agreement concerning hourly paid employees.

- Creating, editing, and uploading content to the ICARS website
- Drafting web copy and news stories
- Developing social media content and tracking audience engagement
- Creating infographics and laying out reports for print (using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and online tools)
- Supporting event and virtual campaign planning
- Strengthening internal communications

Your background and experience

- Creative flair and working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
- Excellent writing skills in English
- Ability to translate complex information (often technical and scientific) into accessible language for targeted audiences
- Outgoing and eager to learn attitude, with the ability to drive independent projects
- Passion for creating engaging content for social media
