By joining the Saxo OpenAPI platform team, you will help accelerate the adoption and knowledge of our OpenAPI technology amongst developers and clients worldwide.
The job
As our new OpenAPI Technical Writer and Tester you refer to the Head of OpenAPI and belong to the Open API platform team. We are responsible for defining the product towards our IT organization for development, and subsequently making it commercially available.
If you are passionate about bridging the gap between business and IT, this is the place for you.
Great API’s are supported by great documentation and great samples – and this is where you come in. We expect you to join the development process when new APIs are being defined. You will already at this stage ensure they are easy to understand, easy to use, and (of course) easy to explain. While the development teams implement the API’s you will create relevant documentation and samples. This will help our partners and clients use our APIs as intended and in the most efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Follow API’s as they are being developed, making sure they is properly designed, easy to understand, well documented and work as you would expect.
- Write samples and documentation to explain certain features of our APIs and how they work in a business context.
- Write developer friendly documentation for the business domain of trading and investing.
- Write internal test code to verify proper API response in “corner cases”.
- Engage with our API users and use their feedback to drive improvements.
- Eventually own the documentation and samples for a subset of our total OpenAPI presence.
Your profile
You are passionate about API technology and have a keen interest in trading and investment. As a person you come across as a good communicator with a passion for what you do. You have a strong sense of quality, and a will to succeed. At the same time you recognize that challenging problems are best solved through collaboration and that team work is essential.
Further we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- In depth knowledge of and direct experience with at least one Back-End and one Front-End development language. Very likely you have a degree in computer science.
- In depth knowledge of and direct experience with APIs, API design and API technologies, preferably including Swagger/OAS.
- You have an opinion about what constitutes good API design and a good developer experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in a diverse team with members across the globe.
- Previously experience as a technical writer for software APIs or components is a strong plus
- Knowledge of the financial markets and experience with trading or investing is a plus.

COO is responsible for building, constantly developing and improving the full digital value chain that Saxo Bank delivers to its clients and its partners. This is done in close collaboration with the IT Department and the Saxo Experience Office (SXO) and supports Saxo Bank in always providing a world class digital Saxo Experience in an efficient, stable and scalable way.
The COO Area includes the following departments: Business Management, Platforms, Operations, Trading & Market Access, Quant Department, Big Data & IA as well as the Counterparty Credit Risk Management department.
