Strategic Marketing Manager Europe to Biomason

Biomason is the only company in the world employing biology to produce cement commercially. Since 2012, they have used microorganisms to grow sustainable, structural biocement® in ambient temperatures, harnessing the power of biotechnology to reinvent traditional cement and offer a planet-friendly alternative. Bio cement will eliminate 25% of the concrete industry’s global carbon emissions by 2030.

Biomason is ready to launch their pioneering products and is currently building a network of manufacturing and commercial partnerships; several of these are already established, and there are more to come. To support the launch and growth, we are looking for a Strategic Marketing Manager to support with market insights, competitor overview, and business analysis that can ensure that Biomason’s business development team makes the right choices.

In the role, you will report to the Head of Marketing in the US, and with a dotted line to the Head of European Business Development in Belgium. You are situated in North-Western Europe, with preference for Denmark – where Biomason already has a presence and has signed up their manufacturing partner.

Your role

In the role, you, as the Strategic Marketing Manager, are a commercially focused and analytically minded marketer with a strong understanding of the players, challenges and opportunities in the cement and concrete ecosystems. You will support with data-driven market analyses and segment opportunities that are in line with Biomason’s growth and strategic requirements. Using your knowledge of the cement industry, you will develop a network and partnerships with stakeholders, who are interested in pursuing becoming carbon neutral. Other tasks will include you to:

  • take a lead role in Biomason’s business development activities around market intelligence, competitive intelligence, customer intelligence and market segmentation.
  • conduct market analysis and deliver robust reporting that enables the business’ growth strategy based on market trends and the competitive environment.
  • lead sector intelligence activities and provide market dynamics, trends, size, opportunities and risks to the business.
  • develop sector-specific marketing activities, identify leads and provide analysis assessing new business opportunities.
  • determine the key market areas that align with the Biomason commercial strategy to maximize growth.

Your profile


We expect you to be a specialist or manager from the cement, concrete or chemical industry, who wants to join a pioneer in the climate-friendly cement solutions. To be successful, you have an entrepreneurial, proactive, and outward-looking mindset that you want to use in outperforming traditional approaches and solutions.

In your work, you can make and oversee many analyses and are comfortable making judgements about what applications to focus on. Through business intelligence, market insight, and an understanding of eco-systems, you can make calculated assessments about future trends and needs. Additionally, you have the following experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or other related fields.
  • More than 7-8 years’ documented experience from previously related work in the cement, concrete or chemical industry.
  • Technical experience coupled with business development experience and an understanding of commercial and marketing terminologies.
  • Experience with emerging technologies in early phase commercialization.
  • Highly analytical and research-oriented approach and experience.
