COWI Global Advisory provides financial and economic analyses as well as policy studies within the sectors of environment, transport, water, energy, climate and urban development. We provide high quality advice to our customers building on the solid technical expertise of our consulting engineer business, which counts more than 8,000 employees worldwide. In our growing EU policy market, we are currently looking for an EU Policy Consultant to join our team in Brussels, working mainly on policy studies for the EU Commission.
IN COWI WE CARE ABOUT YOUR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In this position, you will become part of a growing team of professionals, dedicated and experienced consultants, project managers and specialists working from Brussels together with colleagues at our office in Lyngby - Denmark. You will experience the pulse and dynamics of the consulting business and gain experience in working with different international clients/ donors throughout the project cycle in a highly diversified work environment. You will be engaged in several projects and proposals, where you will work closely with project managers and consultants located in different offices mainly in Europe.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible to:

We are looking for a consultant who combines high professional standards with strong social competences, a team oriented attitude and a keen professional interest in EU policy and analysis.
To succeed in this position, you should have relevant analytical background, previous experience in Consultancy and a flair for presenting complex concepts, be adept at using figures, datasets, and reports. Preferably you would have a background relevant to our key areas of work which includes cohesion policy, sustainable energy, climate change, internal market, competition and the green transition.

You will be engaged in several projects and proposals, where you will work closely with project managers and consultants located in different offices mainly in Europe.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible to:
- Contribute to or manage projects and proposals for our key EU Clients, notably DG ENV, DG CLIMA, DG ENER, DG MOVE, DG REGIO as well as the EIB
- Deliver high quality outputs to our clients
- Perform studies, impact assessments and evaluations including design of consultations and data collection strategies and implementing/supervising actual data collection activities, such as interviews, surveys, workshops and conferences
- Work on evaluation and impact assessments of EU policies in line with the European Commission’s Better Regulation Guidelines thus contributing to providing thought leadership and evidence-based advisory to our clients.
- Navigate in complex stakeholder landscapes, client relations and collaborations across several partners.
- Identify and develop new opportunities, including by coordinating and drafting proposals.
Profile requirements:

Furthermore:
- Master’s degree preferably within economics, finance or similar. Others as law, public administration, or political science are also welcomed.
- 2-5 years' relevant consultancy experience, including proposal development, project management, research and analysis.
- Experience working on complex evaluations and/or impact assessments, covering a variety of policy interventions, and knowledge of the EU Better Regulation guidelines.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking abilities, including qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients and partners, and drive change by taking initiative and demonstrating high motivation.
- Excellent writing skills in English is a must and at least one other European language at a high level is considered an asset.
