Freelance - København N
We are looking for a highly experienced computational biologist and bioinformatician to develop and support big data analytics including machine learning approaches.
Our research
The focus of the Groth group at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR) is to elucidate how chromatin organization and function is propagated during mitotic cell division to maintain genome and epigenome stability. Our goal is to understand mechanisms that underpin chromatin replication and epigenetic cell memory, and how they impact on cell fate decisions in development and disease. We apply innovative proteomic and genomic approaches in combination with stem cell biology, high-content imaging, chromatin biochemistry and structure-function studies. Our group is diverse and multidisciplinary with many scientific collaborations nationally and internationally, and we have an inclusive and highly collaborative work culture. We value idea sharing and use Creative Problem Solving tools to develop our research projects. We also have a translational focus connected to our spin-out company Ankrin Therapeutics.
Your job
You will join a multi-disciplinary research program working on epigenome dynamics and cell plasticity. You will be driving the development of a new research area focused on computational and data driven approaches to understand epigenome stability across cell proliferation in development, aging and disease. Your tasks will also include development of tailored analytic tools for our custom genomics methods for our ongoing and future externally funded projects, supporting collaborative projects across CPR on bioinformatics, sparring with the CPR/reNEW Genomics Platform on pipeline development, and training of PhDs and Postdocs in the use of standard NGS pipelines and machine learning. You will also develop opportunities for combined analysis of epigenomic, genomics, proteomic and high-content imaging data sets.
Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic computational biologist and bioinformatician with the following competencies and experience:
Specific requirements:
You are also expected to have the following personal qualifications:
Place of employment
The place of employment is at Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR), University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and core facilities.
