A combined position as Research Coordinator in our Clinical Academic Group in Translational Hematology (CAG) and Danish Research Center for Precision Medicine in Blood Cancer (DCCC) (50%) and Research Coordinator/Personal Assistant (50%) for Professor Kirsten Grønbæk (KG) is available from January 1, 2024. You will be based in the Grønbæk research group, at BRIC, a research center under the Faculty of Health Sciences at University of Copenhagen..

About the CAG/DCCC in blood cancers:
The CAG/DCCC project is an ambitious translational project among clinical hematologists and clinician scientists from the major hematological departments in Denmark, and basic scientists at Biotech Research and Innovation Centre, BRIC. We aim at improving patient’s outcomes by integrating clinical and basic science with a specific focus on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Thus, the program spans from mouse models, functional genomics, drug screen, and identification of novel drug targets, - to patient care, including clinical trials and quality of life studies. The project runs until 31 December 2025.

Job description:
For the DCCC and CAG (50% time):

  • Facilitate and update the registration and approval of the use of clinical, molecular and animal data i.e.
  • Write amendments, updates and new applications to The Regional and National Science Ethics Committee, The Data Registration Agency and The Danish authorities.
  • Communicate with these institutions for the common CAG/DCCC project, and overview that all approvals/registrations are correct and updated.
  • Participate in CAG and DCCC meetings, report on clinical and ethical issues, and data registration – report on interaction with other departments.
  • Assist in planning and execution of CAG/DCCC educational activities.
  • Primary contact and reporting of issues related to the DCCC/CAG.

Personal assistant (PA) for prof Kirsten Grønbæk (KG) (50% time)
Assist KG in administrative issues related to the clinical professorship and the research group including:

  • Planning, executing and refering meetings in the group, and with collaborators (The van Andel Research Institute, Stand up to Cancer Epigenetics Dream Team, and members of the CAG and DCCC).
  • Write grant applications, reporting of grants and organizing the funding applications in the group.
  • Write applications to ethical committee, data registration agency and communicate with these institutions for projects from the KG group.
  • Support KG in developing teaching material, slides etc.
  • Assist the planning and execution of scientific conferences and courses headed by KG.
  • Support members of the KG group in writing applications, papers and project planning.

Specific requirements:

  • You have a master degree in biology/ biomedicine/medicine
  • You are fluent in Danish and English language (spoken and written)
  • You have experience working within the field of hematology and translational research
  • You have experience with GDPR and ethical permits

Place of employment
You will be based in the Grønbæk Group at BRIC, a research center under Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

Terms of salary and employment
The employment as senior consultant is a full time and fixed-term position for 2 years. Starting date is 1 January 2024. Employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
