Freelance - København N

We are looking for a highly motivated senior consultant to identify and develop tailored translational strategies of our research in DNA damage and repair (DDR) area.

Our research
The focus of the Groth group at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR) is to elucidate how chromatin organization and function is propagated during mitotic cell division to maintain genome and epigenome stability. Our goal is to understand mechanisms that underpin chromatin replication and epigenetic cell memory, and how they impact on cell fate decisions in development and disease. We apply innovative proteomic and genomic approaches in combination with stem cell biology, high-content imaging, chromatin biochemistry and structure-function studies. Our group is diverse and multidisciplinary with many scientific collaborations nationally and internationally, and we have an inclusive and highly collaborative work culture. We value idea sharing and use Creative Problem Solving tools to develop our research projects. We also have a translational focus connected to our spin-out company Ankrin Therapeutics.

Your job
You will be part of our efforts to translate our research in epigenetics and DNA repair into innovative treatment strategies. You will identify translational opportunities stemming from our ongoing research in the oncology space. Further, you will design and develop tailored translational strategies for pre-clinical investigations using cancer models, including plans for clinical sample analyses and approaches for patient stratification.

Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following competencies and experience:

Specific requirements:

  • A PhD in Life science
  • Experience working within the field of Translational Oncology, Genome instability, Cancer Genomics and Proteomics
  • Project management skills and demonstrated abilities to interact with academic and industrial collaborators, and coordination of multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with oncology data mining and molecular profiling
  • Knowledge of cancer models

You are also expected to have the following personal qualifications:

  • Good inter-personal communication skills
  • Good English skills, written and spoken

Place of employment
The place of employment is at Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR), University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and core facilities.

Terms of salary and employment
