Global Partnership Manager with UNICEF Denmark
In UNICEF Denmark, our partnerships with some of the leading companies and foundations are growing in numbers, size and impact. We are now looking for a global partnership manager, whose main task will be to manage and develop UNICEF’s global partnership with the jewellery brand Pandora.
Pandora and UNICEF’s global partnership launched in 2019 to support the most vulnerable children, especially girls, around the world to lead healthier and safer lives and fulfil their potential. The aim of the partnership is to empower young people by raising funds for specific UNICEF programmes on education, gender equality, rights awareness, personal empowerment and civic engagement, as well as UNICEF’s core work to help children around the world survive and thrive.This is an ambitious partnership with global activities and top-level engagement from both Pandora and UNICEF.
The position:
UNICEF Denmark is leading some of UNICEF’s most ambitious strategic partnerships and we are searching for a professional, experienced and highly structured Partnership Manager for our International Business Partnerships unit in our Department of Partnerships.
A successful candidate is driven by working in support of UNICEF’s mandate and enjoys applying their expertise to advocate for and advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Our new colleague will act as the global project manager on our global partnerships with a focus on UNICEF’s global Pandora partnership. They will also lead/assist on other international partnerships as required.
The right candidate will also be the key focal point for driving the Pandora partnership while including and supporting relevant internal stakeholders—in close cooperation with UNICEF´s Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division in Geneva. They will play a vital role in ensuring that the partnership’s goals are reached and that these processes are strategically driven.
Our new team member thrives in an international multi-stakeholder organizational set-up, where collaboration, negotiation and diplomacy are the key elements of successful partnership management.

The successful candidate is first and foremost a strong partnership lead who is a natural in the mediator-role and has a strong focus on being an effective and inclusive team player. They are an excellent communicator who is sensitively decisive and takes time to consult with relevant stakeholders before making and communicating clear decisions and the reasons for them. They also have a solution focused outlook with an ability to remain positive and recover quickly from setbacks. At UNICEF Denmark, we have a strong focus on collaboration. A vital skill for this role is the ability to work as a link between departments and key focal points internally and externally. The position is based in Copenhagen Denmark and is on Danish terms.

Responsibilities:
Partnership management
- Drive UNICEF’s global partnership with Pandora in close collaboration with our Head of International Business Partnerships, Our Pandora Communications lead and Programmes team in Denmark, as well as with UNICEF colleagues internationally.
- Act as the primary day-to-day focal point for the partner.
- Lead on implementing and developing the partnership strategy to achieve partnership goals.
- Take overall responsibility for leading on all operational aspects of the partnership including: the quality of materials and correspondence received by the partner, resolving any day-to-day issues, the production of partnership updates and fundraising materials, and accurate tracking and reporting of partnership income.
- Coordinate and influence across both internally and externally multi-stakeholder networks to align in terms of reaching partnership goals.
- Work in collaboration with UNICEF colleagues internationally to monitor, coordinate and report back on the programmes funded by the partnership.
- Source feature content, human interest stories and photo essays from UNICEF country offices that document partnership programme activities and achievements, in close collaboration with UNICEF Denmark’s programme team.
Strategy and planning
- Ability and interest in developing an in-depth understanding of the purpose and potential within this partnership and the key success factors for creating impact and engagement. This couples with a clear view for leading an agenda together with the partner that adheres to UNICEF’s boundaries and independence.
- Work in close collaboration with UNICEF programme leads, communication specialists and our partners’ Sustainability, Marketing and Communication teams to develop strategic annual partnership plans with clear key priorities that are aligned with the partnership goals.
- Ensure the strategy remains relevant and develops across the life of the partnership.
- Lead on strategic partnership development with the partner, identifying growth opportunities and securing long term impact and engagement.
- Monitor and analyze the activities and ensure partnership objectives are being met, in line with UNICEF’s strategic priorities and the partners’ expectations.
Campaigns and events
- Act as focal point and global lead on partnership planning and management related to purpose driven campaigns and events.
- Lead on coordinating Pandora’s two global cause-related marketing campaigns per year in support of UNICEF, working closely with all partnership stakeholders across UNICEF and Pandora to develop and approve high quality campaign materials that adhere to UNICEF brand guidelines and fundraising best practice.
Relationship building and collaboration
- Serve as primary global focal point for partnership key-stakeholders internally and externally.
- Effectively manage the relationship with the partner at all levels, including sustainability and marketing leads, employees and top-level executives, and ensure key partnership stakeholders are peer-mapped at all levels within UNICEF.
- Work closely with the Head of International Business Partnerships in UNICEF Denmark and build relationships with cross-cutting departments in UNICEF Denmark, UNICEF's Private Fundraising and Partnerships division in Geneva, UNICEF's country offices, regional offices and headquarter office in New York City to deliver results.
- Work closely with, and develop relationships among, UNICEF focal points in key markets for the global cause-related marketing campaigns.
- Convene and consult with key internal stakeholders on decisions and approvals.
- Coordinate inputs from key internal stakeholders and ensure that our partners’ deadlines are met.
- Take part in, and contribute to, partnership project teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working in international organizations and perspective within sustainability and marketing, preferably with UN experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Global Marketing/Communication/Sustainability/CSR or the like.
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in international partnership management with purpose driven business and marketing strategies that include campaigns and engagement activities.
- A proven ability to effectively lead and manage high profile global partnership initiatives, with a proven track-record of successful results with high stakeholder and target group engagement.
- A well-proven strategic eye with the ability to set partnership visions and convert these into concrete goals and prioritized activity plans.
- Experience in incorporating and aligning partners interests.
- Languages: Fluent in English, with excellent writing skills – preferably with Danish skills as well
