About the Laboratory
TestCenter Denmark (TCDK) is the high-capacity laboratory at the Statens Serum Institute (SSI). Our task is to be able to provide high capacity diagnostics in the event of public health emergencies. The laboratory was founded to provide high throughput diagnostic capabilities during the Covid-19 pandemic. Post pandemic, the laboratory is now in an exciting phase of transformation, where we run preventive preparedness projects and maintain the ability scale up diagnostic capacity at any time if necessary.

Our assays are automated for scalability and quality assurance is achieved through a digital data flow. Currently, we monitor SARS-CoV-2 through wastewater analysis while also analyzing daily human samples for respiratory diseases such as influenza, RSV, and SARS-CoV-2. Furthermore, we perform subtyping variant PCR and participating in collaborations on virus variant sequencing via WGS analysis. We also lead and participate in several preparedness related projects.

Statens Serum Institute’s mission is to prevent and control infectious and congenital diseases through research, monitoring, diagnostics, and advice. Our core mission, as an integral part of the Danish healthcare system and international preparedness, is to ensure a forward-looking and future-proof preparedness against infectious diseases, biological threats, and congenital diseases.

About the Position
Following the pandemic, there is a high level of project activity at SSI, and it is crucial to have competent coordination across the organization. Therefore, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated project manager to lead interdisciplinary projects focused on testing, analysis, and monitoring of respiratory diseases in human samples and in wastewater. In TCDK, we are responsible for several large projects, all of which are interdisciplinary, both at SSI and externally. Projects are financed by various sources, including EU grants, Novo Nordisk Foundation and Realdania. Additionally, we aim to attract new projects to the department in the future, and your role will involve supporting the project portfolio in the department as well as seeking research funding for the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans
  • Ensure effective project management, including resource allocation and scheduling
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary teams and ensure communication and collaboration
  • Monitor project progress and address any challenges
  • Regularly report on the project's status to management
  • Evaluate project results and identify areas for improvement
  • Write and coordinate funding proposals.

Education, experience and personal qualifications
You have a master's degree in a relevant field and experience as a project manager, preferably in the healthcare sector.

You have:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Experience with project management tools and methods
  • Knowledge of health research and regulation is an advantage
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Preferably, a functional grasp of Danish.
