Your new role
As Quality Manager in Terma, you will be a part of a team of Quality Managers, working within different Business Areas. Your role will be to provide quality assurance in projects towards defense industry, towards Sea, Land and Air. A key role will be to evaluate quality standards like AS9100, AQAP, SAE, MILSTD, NATO STANAG and customer requirements to ensure compliance in projects and product development.

Your new role
As Quality Manager in Terma, you will be a part of a team of Quality Managers, working within different Business Areas. Your role will be to provide quality assurance in projects towards defense industry, towards Sea, Land and Air. A key role will be to evaluate quality standards like AS9100, AQAP, SAE, MILSTD, NATO STANAG and customer requirements to ensure compliance in projects and product development.
Your responsibilities:
- Works independently and is often able to instruct and coach other specialists and professionals or is in a Lead function, i.e., having a broad view of tasks with the responsibility to delegate, communicate and coordinate.
- Provides input and support to BAs and projects, often as a trusted advisor.
- Ensure customer quality requirements are identified early (by participation in proposal and contract reviews) and documented and implemented in the project via the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) and flowed down to suppliers.
- Ensure internal/external project execution, i.a.w. our QMS by performing internal and external audits.
- Manage Customer Complaints efficiently to maintain Terma’s high customer satisfaction level.
- Participate in project milestone meetings to ensure milestone checklist compliance.
- Perform Buy-off, verifying that deliverables are of the right quality.
- Manage Concessions (Deviations & Waivers) and delegations from customers (GQAR, DCMA)
- Management of Compliance evaluation concerning MIL and NATO quality standards and potentially SW standards like ED-109A, DO-178.

- Analytical yet holistic mindset: A generalist approach (helicopter view) with a high drive and a natural curiosity, coupled with a fact-based approach to ensure quality requirements are met, though not being distracted by too many details.
- Strong execution skills: Solution orientation, courageous and self-confidential presence – e.g., not being afraid of taking a stand, always in a constructive and humble manner.
- Agility: Be agile. Be adaptable, quick and change-making. Be fast, responsive, decisive and well- coordinated. Be easy to work with.
- With the use of independent SME potentially test of software.
- Proven track record at Project Manager or Quality Manager/Specialist level with a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing product development projects or managing quality requirement fulfilment.
- Relevant academic background with a university degree (or equivalent).
- System-level experience in understanding the interaction between mechanical, hardware and software components. Required for Buy-offs.
- Experienced in performing well-documented audits (project and process audits)
- Preferably sufficient knowledge of software engineering and software development processes to understand and handle quality issues related to software development and release of software products.Strong skills in Microsoft Office package.
- You are fluent in written and spoken English.
- Additional Qualifications in Quality Management, Continuous Improvement, including Lean and Six Sigma is desirable.
