As Lab Manager at IO Biotech, you will be working in a small but growing biotech company, with 53 employees divided between Denmark, the USA, and the UK.

As Lab Manager, you will be part of the DK-based preclinical research team which is part of a larger, global R&D team. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless research operations and leading/assisting in all aspects of laboratory management. You will take on a position that requires both laboratory and administrative tasks; therefore, you are structured, navigate with ease, and have great organizational skills.

With direct report to the VP for Translational Research.

Your main tasks will consist of both administrative and laboratory matters, such as:

• Ensuring regulatory compliance
• Communicating with relevant regulatory agencies
• Managing chemical and biological waste disposal
• Managing service contracts and equipment maintenance
• Ordering supplies and managing inventory
• Cross-checking invoices
• Assist in experimental work in the laboratory

Your qualifications are extensive experience working in a research laboratory, for instance, as a Lab Manager, Research Administrator, Technician, and/or a Research Student. You have worked with laboratory information systems before and can easily update the lab safety plan and data sheets. You have experience in monitoring inventory and ordering supplies, and in ensuring that all equipment and instruments are functioning correctly. It is a big advantage if you also have experience and familiarity with experimental work. Furthermore, you possess an excellent command of Danish and English, written and spoken.

You have a relevant educational background within a health and/or science field, such as biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or another laboratory-related area, that can equip the candidate with the necessary profession.

You are a person with extensive coordination and planning skills who at all times manages to stay calm and level-headed, even in complex situations, which can change during the day, both in terms of content and pace. You thrive with variety in your tasks, and you are able to switch between being introverted as well as extroverted. You are reliable and proactive, and you manage to distinguish between when to work independently and when to involve others. You are a great coworker who places great trust in both the work and the people, and you create space and room for others.
