The job

As Sr Lab Technician you report directly to the local site Principal Program Manager. You play an important role to organize and maintain lab infrastructure which is critical to support the experimental work of scientists and engineers in the laboratory.

Your job tasks includes managing lab improvements, maintenance and expansions. You will be responsible for the interaction with suppliers to schedule maintenance, new installations, immediate repairs and upgrade work of the equipment such as cryostats, measurement electronics, vacuum, pumps and cooling compressors.

As the laboratory is also a work space for students, it is important that you enjoy supporting the students in their experimental work and needs. You will help creating awareness for the students in maintaining functional structure and equipment.

Who are you?

For this role we are looking for a highly motivated and solution orientated Sr Lab Technician. We expect that you have research and/or lab experience from a physics laboratory and ideally you are familiar in at least one of the areas of research lab equipment infrastructure and setup, mechanical/electrical engineering or cryogenics.

To be successful in this position you are highly organized, detailed orientated and have a broad technical skillset. As a person you are efficient, timely, precise, and know the importance of documenting, sharing knowledge and planning ahead. You are a strong communicator and understand to interact with differently skilled technicians, scientists and engineers in a multicultural environment. You are fluent in English, both oral and written, and an expert in using Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
