Are you the outstanding medicinal chemist we are looking for? Then come and join! We are looking for a very creative and experienced medicinal chemist with a strong commitment to First-in-Class drug discovery. You will join our highly skilled drug discovery team and together your competencies are crucial to our research projects, in our quest for identifying innovative treatments for people suffering from skin diseases.
You must have profound drug discovery experience and the ability to design and execute medicinal chemistry programs. The position presents a great opportunity to further grow your drug discovery skills by driving and developing our innovative drug discovery projects. The position will have a strong organisational impact through close collaboration with key stakeholders across disciplines within and outside Research.

The position will be based in MedChem II, within our Drug Design area, which consist of 3 departments all together: 2 MedChem departments and DMPK.
In our Medicinal Chemistry teams, we offer unique challenges for professional and scientific development in state-of-the-art drug discovery facilities, an informal working environment and the chance to integrate into a dynamic team of experienced and enthusiastic drug hunters.
The ideal candidate has a Ph.D (or equivalent) in organic or medicinal chemistry and 8-10 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry. You should have a proven track record in Hit-2-Lead, lead optimisation and drug candidate delivery, through working in skilled interdisciplinary teams as well as through independent initiatives.

Challenging position
As one of our experienced medicinal chemists you will:
- as a member of a MedChem project team, take active part in the design and synthesis of novel therapeutic molecules.
- progress medicinal chemistry activities in the project according to goals and milestones and secure focus, motivation and optimal interaction within the team.
- provide leadership and direction of aspects of the project, that may include responsibility for full internal or external projects
- apply your team working abilities to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues, stakeholders and external partners.

- the desire and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across disciplines in drug discovery and with external partners.
- professional fluency in written and spoken English.
