Versatile Chemist to API-production

We are looking for a Cleaning Chemist for the purification part of our Biopharm Novo Nordisk API production, where you can look forward to a job with varying tasks in a changing work environment.

About the department

Our department in Gentofte covers the entire value chain from fermentation of product in the host cell, over column purification to finished freeze-dried product. We are around 100 people collaborating across six different teams consisting of operators, technicians, IT and academics. The department is currently on a journey towards more innovative and digital solutions to meet the vision of Industry 4.0 so that we can continue to deliver world-class API.

The position

In the position as Cleaning Chemist you will be part of a team of academics and technicians, who support the daily production in the column purification and freeze-drying section of our department. You will be working in a fast-paced production environment in close collaboration with colleagues of various professions. You will be the driving force behind optimizing our cleaning processes (CIP/SIP), simplifying workflows, and handling and documenting errors. Thus, you help to ensure that we can deliver product in time and in accordance with the high-quality standards that characterise Novo Nordisk. When facing challenges, you keep the overview and proactively take the initiative to involve your colleagues in resolving problems quickly and efficiently. You have an on-going dialogue with colleagues across the production about how to ensure quality, improve our working methods and avoid mistakes.

Your main responsibility as Cleaning Chemist is to ensure that the cleaning processes (CIP/SIP) of our production equipment meets GMP standards. Your tasks range widely from documentation and assessment of scientific data, to systematic problem solving, project execution, and optimization.

Qualifications

You have an academic degree within natural science, such as biotechnology or similar, and may have a few years of experience in production in a GMP-regulated environment. Preferably you have experience in microbiology together with a technical understanding of (production) equipment.

By nature, you are curious and not afraid to challenge the existing and come up with a new approach. You are driven by a desire to improve and innovate our production processes and workflows and at the same time able to work independently and structured in a dynamic and changing environment.

You have an excellent ability to interact with others across professional groups and you can teach people of other professions and take the lead when needed.

You thrive when tasks vary from documentation and data processing at the computer, to fast-paced problem solving with operators and technicians in production.

As a person you are energetic, committed and helpful, and contributing to a positive atmosphere and work culture. You are humble towards views of others, and you thrive on feedback and openness.
