Drug Development - Inorganic chemistry - Nanoparticles
Do you want to address one of the largest global health challenges of our time? Join Pharmacosmos on its ongoing R&D programmes in a highly scientific and critical role a unique opportunity to combine your broad knowledge about inorganic chemistry and/or nanoparticles with healthcare.
As a Senior Development Chemist within R&D, you will be an integral part of a highly specialized team alongside 5 chemists. Across the Carbohydrate and Iron Complex Manufacturing you will be responsible for the development and optimization of new syntheses.
This includes development of new carbohydrate-based products and developing ideas from conception, through to full scale production and commercialization. You will make chemical characterization of products and ensure scientific projects in support of development, quality, or production. The scientific projects will include identifying root causes and/or optimizing existing processes and products, and for supporting CMC related development projects for pharmaceuticals projects in the pipeline.
You are expected to hold a MSc or PhD degree in Chemistry obtained directly from academia for PhD holders or in combination with industry experience as chemist/scientist for masters graduates. It is expected you have a scientific foundation in the development of inorganic chemistry and/or nanoparticles. Moreover, you possess experience of transferring chemical processes from pilot to commercial scale combined with experience supporting preparation of regulatory drug applications. Additionally, you may have worked with size exclusion chromatography (GPC), experience of preparing patents or utilizing Design of Experiment (DOE) principles.
Personally, you must possess strong analytical capabilities. You are self-driven with an eagerness to innovate and to conceive, plan and execute experiments. As a member of a highly dedicated team that thrives on collaboration, it is essential that you are a true team player who enjoys working seamlessly across functions. This will also become important when communicating with key stakeholders to assist with decision making, and when discussing technical issues at the plant staff level as well as with groups of technical peers. Finally, you are fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Develop the healthcare of tomorrow and optimize existing processes
