We are seeking a Laboratory Manager who will be responsible for coordinating and handling a broad spectrum of laboratory-related tasks to ensure optimal use of research facilities, safety, knowledge sharing, and collaboration. You will interact closely with Group Leaders and laboratory users to coordinate activities relating to the laboratories, and together with the Center's two other Laboratory Managers, you will play an instrumental role in facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing across the Center.

The Center has around 260 employees, consisting of 23 research groups and 5 technology platforms, who work in a vibrant international research environment with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration.

Terms of salary and employment
Your employment will be at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR), University of Copenhagen. The position is a full-time (37 hours per week) and permanent position and is open for appointment as soon as possible.
For candidates holding a master’s degree, the employment will be in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement between the Danish Government and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
Employment as Laboratory Technician (laborant) will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT. The position is placed in salary group 5.
Employment as Biomedical Laboratory Scientist (bioanalytiker) will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Society of Biomedical Laboratory Scientists (Danske Bioanalytikere).
Depending on qualifications a supplement may be negotiated.

Your tasks will include:
- Introduce and instruct/train new laboratory users (Good Laboratory Practices, safety, and other required practices)
- Ensure efficient organization and use of laboratory space and equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety laws and legal standards for laboratory work
- Organize and assist in procurement, installation, and maintenance of equipment, and in the planning of laboratory renovations
- Procurement of consumables and invoice handling
- Identify and implement optimal laboratory management solutions including electronic booking systems, ELN, equipment/inventory databases, etc.
- Take part in making the Center laboratories more sustainable through the Laboratory Efficiency Assessment Framework (LEAF)
- Coordinate common laboratory tasks and workflows

Your professional qualifications
- Educational background as either a MSc within biomedical sciences, as a Biomedical Laboratory Scientist or as a Laboratory Technician
- 5+ years of experience with laboratory work
- Solid experience in setting up, optimizing, and organizing laboratory facilities
- Experience with administrative aspects of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and occupational health and safety regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Danish
- The ability to work structured and organized, and to prioritize own tasks
- Good IT skills – especially within the use of Microsoft office programs
