The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Assistant (hourly paid). The starting date is August 1, 2020.
Background
Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) is a vibrant international research environment with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration. Our researchers share a common purpose as they seek to transform the basic understanding of the mechanisms involved in metabolic health and disease, and to accelerate this knowledge toward new prevention and treatment strategies. The Center’s research has resulted in seminal discoveries as to how genes, hormones, and environmental factors influence metabolic health and disease throughout life.

The position is in the group of Associate Professor Christoffer Clemmensen. The Clemmensen group investigates how neuroendocrine signals are involved in coordinating appetite, food-motivated behaviour, energy expenditure, glycemic control and lipid metabolism, and aims at transforming molecular and physiological insights into innovative therapeutic strategies that can correct obesity and metabolic diseases.
Terms of Employment
The employment is made in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organisations of Public Employees – governmental institutions (the OAO-S collective agreement) and the Professional Agreement for clerical employees, laboratory technicians and IT officers in the state.
The position is permanent but conditioned on an active enrolment as student at an institution of higher education.
The average working hours is 10-12 hours pr. week. Your place of work will be at University of Copenhagen, Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, Blegdamsvej 3B, 2200 Copenhagen N.

- Accepting, registering and handling materials
- Feeding of experimental animals (FELASA certificate prerequisite)
- Assist in sample collecting
- Aliquoting reagents
