The Protein and Peptide facility at Department of Drug design and Pharmacology has one vacant position as a student employee/ Laboratory Assistant (monthly paid).
About the department
The Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology (ILF) is a part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. Approximately 300 scientific and administrative staff members are employed at the department (2018) and delivers research and teaching within a wide range of disciplines.
About the Protein and peptide facility
The facility provides a number of labs with equipment for protein production, DNA cloning, crystallization, and cell culturing of E-coli and higher cells.
Your tasks
The tasks will mainly consist of:
Your competences
We expect that you are responsible, thorough and flexible in regard to time schedules.It is an advantage with some experience in lab work and students at BCs level or higher is preferable.
Terms of employment
The employment will be in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and OAO/HK STAT.
The position is permanent and would like to be occupied as soon as possible, and is conditioned on an active enrolment as student at an institution of higher education. The working hours is 20 hours per month. Salary is placed in group 1, equivalent around 2500 kr per month.

Your tasks
The tasks will mainly consist of:
- Packing of pipette tips
- Autoclaving of pipette tips, micro tubes, flasks etc.
- Preparation of standard buffers and stocks
- Disposal of GMO waste and general cleaning of protein purification labs, E-coli expression lab, buffer lab and crystallization lab
- Siliconizing of cover glasses
- Filling of MQ water reservoirs and EtOH spray flasks
- Unpacking and deregistering of chemicals
- Unpacking of plastic utensils etc. and filling of storage depots
- Supply all labs with gloves, paper tissue, aluminum paper etc.
- Arranging in place cleaned glassware
- Cleaning of Equipment
