A clinical position as consultant of emergency medicine at the Emergency Department at Nordsjælland Hospital is open for appointment from as soon as possible. The position is combined with a 10-year position as clinical professor of Emergency Medicine at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. With this new position the Department of Emergency Medicine, Nordsjælland Hospital wishes to strengthen the leadership in clinical research and teaching in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen.
It is a requirement that the applicant is accepted for appointment of both the professorship and the consultancy.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
In a few years, we will move to a new setting at the new Nordsjælland Hospital. Therefor we are in the process of creating a larger and stronger Emergency Department, which will be the heart of the newly built hospital. We prioritize the training of both doctors and nursing staff in the work of achieving good patient outcomes. Therefore, we are looking for you who will help to develop the speciality and set new standards for the emergency area. We are a separate department in a well-functioning joint emergency room (FAM) with 1000 patients / week, where the majority are discharged with good plans within the first 24 hours. The emergency department are involved in all the processes and most of the acute patients are examined and treated in our department. The emergency department is the hospital's entrance for acute patients in North Zealand with 30 reception beds and a trauma room with 3 beds. Your new colleagues consist of 8 physicians with basic clinical training, 10 foundation doctors, 3 speciality registrars, 11 specialists and 110 nurses.
Clinical functions and focus areas of the department
In the ward, we have clear and solid workflows for the patient's path through the ward and a strong interdisciplinary team. Our ambition is to diagnose, make a treatment plan and prognosis for the patient. Although we receive many patients every hour of the day, we aim to create calm processes. At patients discharge, we aim to bridge the treatment at the hospital, in the municipality and at the general practitioner. We therefore have a special focus on the discharges and have establishes an outpatient team to visit the patients in their homes. We are several professional groups that have worked for years in emergency medicine. We cultivate the spaciousness that makes the collaboration flow, because even though it is busy here, there must be room for humor and smiles. Our close cooperation under intense frameworks creates strong relationships, and this means that many former colleagues have returned to us again.
Research and teaching
With the new position as consultant in Emergency Medicine and clinical professor of Emergency Medicine the Department of Emergency Medicine wishes to strengthen leadership in clinical research and teaching.
Qualifications
Applicants must be board-certified specialist in Emergency Medicine.
Conditions
In order to be considered, the applicant must send an application to both the Faculty (the professorship) and to the hospital (the consultancy) cf. the simultaneously advertised position of the professorship. Appointment is conditioned by the fact that the applicant obtains both positions. This also applies to the applicants who are already employed as consultants at Nordsjælland Hospital.
Salary and conditions of employment as consultant are as agreed between the Danish Regions and the Danish Association of Medical Specialists and between the Capital Region/Region Zealand and University of Copenhagen.
As clinical professor at least 50 % of the working time will be allocated to academic tasks (e.g. research, teaching, evaluation tasks and communication with the public) in agreement with the Head of Department of Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Copenhagen. The remaining time will be allocated for clinical work in agreement with the head of the Emergency Department. The clinical professor will receive secretarial or technical support equivalent to 50 % of a full-time secretary position from the department of Emergency Medicine. Additional support and details on the working conditions must be negotiated with the head of the department of Emergency Medicine, Nordsjælland Hospital.
