We are looking for a Medical Doctor with medical/research background within the field of cardiology with a passion for drug development. You will be part of a team of highly talented colleagues working within clinical development. We offer the opportunity for you to use your clinical and research experience, your analytical skills, your curiosity, and creativity to drive the clinical development of innovative treatments that will make a difference for people suffering from metabolic and cardiovascular related diseases.

About the department

Medical & Science, GLP-1, CV and Outcomes is part of Global Development situated in Søborg, Copenhagen, Denmark. We are medically responsible for clinical development strategies and programmes of the Novo Nordisk GLP-1 analogue portfolio for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes and associated co-morbidities as well as early cardiovascular disease pipeline activities and projects. Our responsibilities include medical and scientific support to the planning, execution and reporting of clinical trials and providing support to health authority interactions throughout the drug life-cycle. The department consists of 25 medical specialists (MDs) and is split into three teams – one of them serving as medical & science centre of excellence for our cardiovascular disease portfolio. The activities include support of two large cardiovascular outcomes trials and future cardiovascular related indications.

The position

You will be working together with highly talented, ambitious and dedicated medical specialists. You will be involved in a great variety of tasks, though primarily working with cardiovascular related projects including cardiovascular outcomes trials. You will be involved in the planning and support of early as well as late stage clinical development projects and expected to take on the medical responsibility for these.

Successful candidates are dedicated team players who can provide high-quality and timely medical input to the design and conduct of clinical trials, interpretation of data, documentation of trial results and supporting regulatory submissions and interactions - always maintaining a patient-centric mind-set.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the Novo Nordisk organisation. The job is globally oriented and will require strong interactions with colleagues in headquarter and the regional offices as well as external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, treating physicians and therapeutic experts.

Qualifications

You must hold a university degree as a Medical Doctor and have medical/research background within the field of cardiology. Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience within drug development from the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Most importantly, you have a passion for clinical research and drug development. Previous experience from the pharmaceutical industry is not a requirement.

You are flexible, open-minded and dedicated team player with the ability to take on an informal leadership role. In addition, you thrive in a global environment of continuous and fast development with focus on high quality and results.

We put patients first and do not compromise on quality and expect you to do the same. Interaction with internal and external global experts require proficiency in English, excellent communication, coordination and planning capacities. You may expect travelling activity of approximately 15-30 days per year.

Working at Novo Nordisk

We are an organisation with many international employees and we welcome local as well as non-local applicants. We offer an inspiring and ambitious working environment, alongside the flexibility that allows you to influence your own working day. We believe that is what stimulates the ingenuity to develop the next generations of cutting-edge treatments.

At Novo Nordisk, your skills, dedication and ambition help us change lives for the better. In exchange, we offer you an opportunity to work with extraordinary talent and benefit from a range of possibilities for professional and personal development.
