We are looking for a talented Medical Doctor with research and clinical experience to join our Medical & Science, Insulin & Devices team. Our Medical Doctors are at the very heart of our clinical research and development and we are looking for a talented and ambitious Medical Doctor with a wish to work with drug development in the pharmaceutical industry to join us. You will become our medical specialist responsible for developing new therapies for diabetes and other serious chronic diseases by providing medical input and expertise for our clinical research and development. About the department
Medical & Science, New Generation Insulins is part of Global Development located in Søborg, Denmark. We are globally responsible for the medical & scientific aspects of drug development from Phase 1 throughout the continuous clinical utility evaluations done while the drug is on the market.
The department is responsible for the planning and execution of global clinical trials and for medical and scientific support to health authority interactions within existing and new insulin formulations. We are instrumental in providing documentation and interpretation of clinical data leading to New Drug Applications (NDAs) and variation applications, periodic safety updates on marketed drugs, and drugs in clinical development, market access and external scientific communication. The department is based in a project-centric organisation, and internally we work in cross-functional teams. Our key external stakeholders are the scientific community and medical experts, regulatory authorities and market access institutions.
Global Development is overall responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases through large clinical development programs, product approval and market introduction until discontinuation from the market. We ensure medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and maintenance of authorisations according to global standards, regulations and business ethics.
The position
Key responsibilities will be to take up the role as medical specialist within assigned diabetes projects. As a medical specialist you will be using your medical expertise being involved in a great variety of tasks related to clinical development in close collaboration with many other skill areas such as Trial Operations, Biostatistics and Medical Affairs. You will use your expertise as a Medical Doctor playing a leading role in designing clinical trials, providing medical oversight during trial conduct, interpreting data including risk-benefit profiles of drugs, documenting results and supporting regulatory submissions. You are expected to give presentations internally and externally and support publication development.

The job is globally oriented and will require strong interaction with skilled colleagues and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, treating physicians and therapeutic experts. The job will require approximately 2-3 days of travel per month.
Qualifications
You are a Medical Doctor by training and have documented scientific merits as e.g. a Ph.D. degree or equivalent experience. You have clinical experience and may have relevant experience with clinical development from the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry. It will be an advantage if you have experience from executing clinical trials and/or interaction with regulatory authorities e.g. NDA submissions, scientific advice or similar.
You may also have experience working in an international environment and cross-functional professional groups. As a person, you thrive in a setting with a high level of complexity and have solid problem-solving capabilities. You have excellent collaboration and communication skills and are fluent in professional English.
