We are looking to employ a Medical Doctor (MD) with extensive experience and a background in translational drug development as well as medical research experience within the field of rare endocrine or rare blood disorders. We need your analytical skills and research experience to drive new novel trial designs and your clinical experience to support new products coming into the portfolio of rare disorders.
About the department
Medical & Science, Biopharm is part of Global Development and situated in Søborg, Copenhagen, Denmark. In M&S, Biopharm we are focused on rare blood disorders and rare endocrine disorders hereunder haemophilia and growth disorders in the current pipeline. Due to the rarity of the disorders we are driven by passion for the few patients and needs to continuously build and innovate upon learnings obtained. The rarity of the disorders requires a close collaboration and eye to external partners and key opinion leaders, which therefore is key in the daily work. We are responsible for clinical development strategies and programmes of the Novo Nordisk Biopharm portfolio including bridging the early ideas from research to the marketed products in life cycle management. This is where the knowledge of translational medical research can play a great role for products to be developed and in the end reach the patients and serve their need.
The department consists of 16 people both medical doctors (MDs) and administrative colleagues with diverse background and experience and to further strengthen the scientific support, we need translational expertise.
The position
The position as Medical Specialist in M&S Biopharm offers a unique opportunity to support and impact new drug development strategies and plans in Global Development as well as across the R&D organisation in Novo Nordisk.
Successful candidates are dedicated team players who can analyse and communicate data and results to be be used in trials designs, regulatory support and interactions as well as driving learnings one step further into implementation and simple execution. The candidate should have a patient-centric mind-set and actively express a proactive attitude also when meeting challenges.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the Novo Nordisk organisation. The job is globally oriented and will require interactions and great collaboration with colleagues in regional offices as well as external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, treating physicians and therapeutic experts. You should have a flair for building and using both internal and external networks and share learnings actively within the project and department.
Furthermore, the job also requires a high degree of independence as well as an interest in cross-collaboration as many decisions have business impact and many stakeholders are involved in each project. Therefore, setting direction while being flexible is important due to several tasks and requirements coming from different stakeholders, meaning expectation management is the key to succeed.
You may expect travelling activity of approximately 15-30 days per year.
Qualifications
You must hold a university degree as a Medical Doctor, have translational research experience as well as extensive medical expertise. Having a PhD is also an advantage.
You are looking for a job where you will have impact on the way we do drug development, the initial strategy and the final results. You are not afraid to test and optimise ways of working and developing process e.g. when it comes to trial designs and collaboration.
Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience within drug development (areas of interest are: large and small molecules, RNA and gene therapy).
You are a team player and have a flexible and open mindset with the ability to be a strong communicator and take on an informal leadership role. In addition, you thrive in a global environment of continuous and fast development with an attitude to learn.
Interaction with internal and external global experts require proficiency in English, excellent communication, coordination and planning capacities.
