Medical Doctor for Global Development
Do you want to join a great drug development team striving to improve the lives of patients with obesity and other serious chronic diseases? We are looking for a talented Medical Doctor with research and/or clinical development experience with a wish to work with drug development in the pharmaceutical industry within a highly inspiring environment.

In Global Development, we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases through large clinical development programs, product approval and market introduction until discontinuation from the market. We ensure medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and maintenance of authorisations according to global standards, regulations and business ethics.

About the departments

In Medical & Science, Obesity and Metabolism, we are responsible for the planning and execution of global clinical trials and for medical and scientific support to health authority interactions. We are instrumental in providing documentation and interpretation of clinical data leading to New Drug Applications (NDAs) and variation applications, periodic safety updates on marketed drugs, and drugs in clinical development, market access and external scientific communication. The department is based in a project-centric organisation, and internally we work in cross-functional teams. Our key external stakeholders are the scientific community and medical experts, regulatory authorities and market access institutions.

The position
Key responsibilities will be to take up the role as medical specialist within the assigned obesity project. As a medical specialist you will be involved in a great variety of tasks in close collaboration with many other skill areas such as Trial Operations, Biostatistics and Medical Affairs. You will play a leading role in designing clinical trials, providing medical oversight during trial conduct, interpreting data including risk-benefit profiles of drugs, documenting results and supporting regulatory submissions. You are expected to give presentations internally and externally and support publication development.

The organisation is dynamic and therefore your responsibilities will change in accordance with the needs of the organisation and to support your further professional development.

The job is globally oriented and will require strong interaction with skilled colleagues and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, treating physicians and therapeutic experts. You can expect travelling activity of approximately 2-3 days per month, but currently there is no travelling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Qualifications
You are a Medical Doctor by training and have documented scientific merits as e.g. a Ph.D. degree or equivalent. You may have relevant experience with clinical development from the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry. It will be an advantage if you have experience from executing clinical trials and/or interaction with regulatory authorities e.g. NDA submissions, scientific advice or similar.

As a person, you thrive in a setting with a high level of complexity and have solid problem-solving capabilities. You have excellent collaboration and communication skills and are fluent in professional English. Most importantly, you will be involved in meaningful work with dedicated open-minded people for an organisation that is committed to help changing serious chronic diseases. Curiosity, empathy and a good sense of humour as well as a wish to understand yourself even better and explore personal development opportunities is very much appreciated.
