Fondazione Poliambulanza is looking for a Specialist in diseases of the respiratory system.
Fondazione Poliambulanza is a private non-profit hospital accredited with the Regional Health System in Lombardy.
It is a multi-specialist center with 600 beds, about 90,000 accesses per year to the Emergency Department and four areas of excellence: treatment of cancer and cardiovascular diseases, orthopedic operations and management of every phase related to childbirth thanks to one of the most modern and advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the area.
Fondazione Poliambulanza is a University training center in partnership with Università Cattolica, it has advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies and a fully integrated system of patient management. It has been recognized as a Hospital of Excellence by the Joint Commission International and is certified EMRAM Stage 6 by HIMSS (https://www.himssanalytics.org/emram), for efficiency of IT solutions spent in support of clinical and patient care processes.
Job description
The lung specialist/specialist in diseases of the respiratory system will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that may affect the structures of the respiratory system: larynx, trachea, bronchi, lungs, diaphragm and rib cage.
The specialist will be part of the multidisciplinary team in the General Medicine Unit of the Department of Medicine and Gastroenterology and Endoscopy of the facility.
In addition to managing the clinical activities of the department (day/night shifts and weekend on-calls), the professional will specifically deal with the diagnosis and treatment of the main pulmonary and pleural diseases both through outpatient and consultancy activities in the wards.
If he/she detects the need for surgery, he/she may work in collaboration with a thoracic or cardiovascular surgeon. In addition, he/she may also work with an allergist.
Profile
A specialisation in Respiratory Diseases or Pneumology is required, even if recently acquired, while skills in instrumental diagnostics (e.g. spirometry, chest ultrasound, etc.) are a plus.
Previous experience in endoscopic diagnostics (bronchoscopies) is preferable, but not necessary because the employer has a specific training and mentoring program with expert tutors in order to make the professional acquire these skills.
Additional skills: strong motivation, attitude to collaboration and work in the multidisciplinary teams of the hospital.
