Are you interested in an attractive position as a Breast Surgery Specialty Registrar at the Department of Gastrointestinal and Breast Surgery at Viborg Regional Hospital, Hospitalsenhed Midt.
The department will have a vacant position as of 2019 or as per arrangement.
About the position
We are looking for a Breast Surgery Specialty Registrar.
We require you to be a specialist in Surgery, Plastic Surgery or another relevant surgical specialty and to have a desire to be trained as a specialist in breast surgery.
You will be offered oncoplastical surgery training.
You need to meet the assessment criteria for hiring of Specialists established by Region Midtjylland.
You will be part of the new department management team on an equal basis with the rest of the Specialist group, and you will report to the department management team regarding management issues and to the Head Consultant in academic matters.
If you want to do research, there are good opportunities for this. The department has a Consultant who is responsible for research, as well as a research unit. Viborg Regional Hospital has a clinical research unit which can support such initiatives and desires.
We have a successful collaboration with Research Center Foulum and Aarhus University Hospital.

About the Department of Gastrointestinal and Breast SurgeryThe Department of Gastrointestinal and Breast Surgery consists of a Surgical Gastrointestinal Unit and a Surgical Breast Unit.
Our Surgical Breast Unit is the no. 4 largest in Denmark with around 750 medical interventions a year.
In 2015, we were appointed by ”Dagens Medicin” as the no.1 department of breast surgery in Denmark.
You will become part of an attractive workplace where we primarily treat patients with malign breast deseases. The recruitment area is 515,000 inhabitants in the central and western part of Region Midtjylland
You will belong to the Surgical Breast Unit, which disposes of 5 elective weekly surgery lines. There are 9 weekly ambulatory lines.
Patients for breast surgery are mostly daytime patients, but patients may also go to the Surgical Unit or the Patient Hotel.
Currently, the department is staffed by 3 consultants.
