The Department of Food and Resource Economics (IFRO) at the Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen invites applications for a position as full professor within the field of Innovation & Entrepreneurship. The position is available in the Section of Production, Markets and Policy, and shall to contribute to the general research domain covered by the section’s research group on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management. The position is within the research area of innovation management, preferably in the context of life and health science sectors, e.g. food, agriculture and/or pharma. More specifically, the position will contribute to further expanding the research group’s activities on topics such as open innovation, user innovation, innovation ecosystems, business models, intellectual property, strategic decision making, university-industry collaboration, business development, capacity building, and entrepreneurship education.

We are looking for applicants with documented research experience, either qualitative or quantitative (or both), within the broad domain of innovation management, possibly connected to entrepreneurship, strategic management, or organization theory.

The associate professor is expected to take a senior role in the Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Management group and to collaborate with other research groups at the Department, the university, elsewhere in Denmark and in the rest of the world. We are particularly interested in competent team players interested in contributing to the Department’s collaborative and interdisciplinary research and teaching activities, and to interdisciplinary research efforts in collaboration with research groups in other relevant fields.

We expect applicants to have a relevant academic background and documented empirical research competence of high international standard within the above-mentioned research fields. It is expected that the associate professor maintain a significant record of publication at an appropriate level and with a promising pipeline, to encourage research achievements and to contribute to a research culture within the research group. Fundraising, external collaboration and active participation in research networks will be a specific priority for the associate professor in order to enhance and sustain the development of the research activities. The department will support the associate professor in this task. It is also expected that research activities and results are disseminated to multiple stakeholders outside of the university (including policy makers, NGOs, and the industry).

Applicants are required to have university level teaching experience, documented teaching competences and must be able to explain and reflect upon own teaching practice and portfolio. Formal pedagogical training or supervision equivalent to the University of Copenhagen teacher training program for assistant professors is required.

Duties include the applicant’s own research, development of the field, assessment tasks, grant applications, and research management such as supervision and training of research fellows and other staff. In addition, advisory work for the public authorities and outreach to society is expected. The successful applicant must also teach, supervise, prepare and participate in examinations, and fulfill other tasks requested by the Department. Finally, it is expected that the associate professor engage with and participate in Department and Faculty governance structures.

Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, original scientific production at an international level, including contributions to developments in their field, as well as their documented teaching qualifications. Managerial and out-reach qualifications of applicants including ability to attract external funding will also be considered important.

Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

Commencing salary for Associate Professors is currently up to DKK 477.721 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 81.690).

Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
