The University seeks to appoint an associate professor to the Department of Pharmacy to commence 1 October 2020.

Job description
The candidate will carry out research in the area of oral drug delivery, with emphasis on drug delivery for special populations, especially the pediatric population. This includes development of patient suitable delivery systems and design of in vitro models that are simulating the the gastro-intestinal tract of the population in focus. For the latter, modelling and simulations of fluid compositions, transit times and drug absorption form part of the research methodologies.
The associate professor’s responsibilities primarily consist of:
The position will include approximately 700 h of teaching on bachelor and masters levels, as well as PhD courses (note that this is not the contact time, but includes teaching preparation, exams etc). Teaching subjects can be within the Department’s teaching portfolio, but will mainly evolve around physical chemistry and pharmaceutics and include lectures, classroom teaching, laboratory exercises and supervision. An integrated part of the duty is to participate actively in the development of the pharmaceutical curriculum.

The associate professor is also required to possess good interpersonal and communicative skills. The assessment of the candidate also addresses out-reach qualifications, the strength of research network, and ability to attract external funding.
Terms of employment
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.

- Research-based teaching
