You have extensive experience within customer distribution or warehouse management on a managerial level, and you therefore have extensive knowledge of social and environmental issues related to warehousing.
You have strong communication skills, which enables you to challenge the business when needed, while inspiring and motivating the people around you. Essentially, you’re a dynamic and action-oriented leader that takes responsibility and confidently makes independent decisions.
Furthermore, we preferably see that you:
• Have a degree within logistics or economics or extensive working experience within the field
• Competence and understanding of Automation and Warehouse Management Systems
• Have customer focus at the center of everything we do
• Experience in driving a Customer Distribution Center or similar
• In-depth understanding of profit/loss
• Holistic business understanding and approach
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the Customer Fulfilment journey we are establishing a Customer Distribution Center (CDC) in Denmark.
The purpose is to enable IKEA Denmark to meet the future demands in regards to a rapidly growing online customer segment, securing the needed capabilities for this journey.
The overall purpose of the role is to lead and coach your team to enable the CDC to deliver goods within the agreed time and quality at the lowest possible cost, while having the customer in focus and the total supply chain in mind. In other words, you’ll be supporting the daily operations, meaning analysing the logistic processes, identity improvement areas and optimise the working methods – hereunder supporting systems – in order to reach and keep excellence in our operations. First-time-right in every operational process is the key to higher efficiency, reduced cost and a better customer experience.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Ensuring customer focus to secure goods delivery within 100% lead time fulfillment with a first-time-right approach.
• Maintaining and updating the logistical setup, the local processes and connected Standard Operational Procedures.
• Increasing the efficiency of CDC operations to reduce costs, improve productivity and work spirit with a total supply chain in focus
• Supporting and involving yourself in global and local projects to find efficient and innovative ways to optimise the CDC logistic process and systems to improve on operations efficiency.
ABOUT THIS WORK AREA
In this role you will report to the Central Fulfillment Unit Manager and be a part of a fantastic management team, consisting of Warehouse Manager, People & Culture and Business Navigation. You will be located at the Central Distribution Center in the Copenhagen area. Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for the Operational Coordinator team and the VMS superuser.
