We need new ways of producing food, and at Biotrino that’s exactly what we are devoted to.
More specifically, we have developed a new type of microalgae that have the potential to replace animal protein.
Microalgae can have up to 60% protein and an abundance of vitamins and minerals, and it can grow efficient with little emissions, water, and land use.
Up until now the problem with microalgae have been a strong taste and color, and we have overcome that with our microalgae Blonde Chlorella.
Microalgae will only have a real impact when we start to replace animal protein, and that’s where we need you.
We need help developing actual great food products that can be produced at scale, where we have replaced animal protein with microalgae. Currently we are looking at replacing eggs and butter in products like ice cream, cakes, and condiments.

Your specific tasks will be to
The work will be structured as project work for the first 2-3 months while you develop the products, and then as needed to help the food producers with developing their products.
The work hours will be flexible, and you can either use your own kitchen, or we can rent a kitchen where you can do your tests.

We need someone who
- Have experience developing products for the food industry.
- Know the different ingredients used in the food industry and how and when to use them.
- Have a precise and methodical approach, so we will know what works and what doesn’t.
- Can work independently.
Your specific tasks will be to
- Develop food products without eggs and butter that are as good as their counterparts with animal products.
- Pinpoint the best use cases for our microalgae.
- Help the food producers develop recipes with microalgae instead of egg/butter.
