Opportunity


Purpose: We are looking for a seasoned professional and influencer to join the organization who can drive our Contract Logistics (CL) Commercial Management and Growth Strategy, in a collaborative manner. The right person will be a trusted partner to regions, areas and teams such as Product, Operations and Finance who will drive the process of determining and setting the strategy, to gain market share and achieve revenue goals. This role will require a strong understanding of growth and commercial strategy, verticals, product, excellent analytical skills and experience collaborating across Global Vertical Heads, Business Product Owners (BPO), Operations Leadership, Sales and Marketing, IT and Engineering.As a Commercial Manager, you will have a variety of responsibilities, which includes, but are not limited to, following areas:

Commercial and Growth Management:

  • Own development of global and regional growth and commercial strategies, partnering with BPO, global vertical heads, regional areas, product organization.
  • Own the establishment of commercial management standards / metrics with regions / areas on signed-off business cases to ensure recurring follow-ups and set-up of a commercial monitoring format of pipeline and volumes.
  • Responsible for continuous dialogues with all relevant stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and implement initiatives that will enable in year growth.
  • Responsible for adjusting growth plans, e.g., following change in market conditions or performance different than planned and influencing relevant local strategy work through actively seeking participation for growth team.
  • Own deep dives with regions / areas to gather insights why we are losing / winning and have a reporting on the root causes to understand our actions.
  • Lead regional CL commercial management and enablement community, establishing appropriate ways of working, tools and knowledge sharing for required capability.
  • Lead regional sales guidance / target setting in sync with i) regional / area capabilities / customer demand, ii) product and iii) key vertical aspirations to help drive worldwide sales process standardization journey.
  • Own validation of sales tool (SFDC) and process improvements and requests with partner teams, drive alignment on priorities across teams and ensure we cover the end-to-end perspectives while developing a strong platform needed to scale.
  • Work closely with global community regarding methodology enhancements sharing best practices.
  • Speak up and share both supportive and critical views in a way that fosters a dynamic and engaging pursuit of continuous commercial improvement and enablement.
  • Capture and share knowledge / best practices throughout the regional community to support short- and long-term success.

Partnership

  • Co-own commercial guidelines with Business Product Owners and Vertical Global Heads in CL.
  • Partners across functions and work closely with and communicates with regions, areas, Operations leadership, Sales and Marketing, IT, Engineering, and stakeholders to develop and implement competitive growth strategies.
  • Partner with Head of Network to analyse data related in order to build on demand and capacity planning.
  • Partner with BPO and recommend strategies that align closely with active market trends and based on the analysis of internal and external data.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years of experience in commercial management, ideally in the (contract) logistics industry.
  • Strategic and hands-on. Candidate understands vertical growth strategy and can leverage BI tools to perform in-depth analysis / deep dives.
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business, accounting, finance or related field required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience in business development in contract logistics.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced organization, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools (Excel, word, VBA, etc.).
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Not afraid to speak their mind.
  • Strong communication skills; verbal and written.
  • A well organized and self-directed individual who is a team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Self-motivated, who can complete tasks without supervision and who can evaluate and manage risks appropriately.
